I love how she is sitting on top of the other changeling while explaining this. Action: You decide to trust this filly and you understand her reasons for doubting a pony she just met with her true identity, But you wanna know his reason for sneaking into your room at night before you let him go.

Maybe she is being honest, but who knows? Changelings are natural tricksters. Ask her for a proof of her good intentions, and you will free the changeling and keep the secret. Maybe a little of work tomorrow, bucking appletrees.

And after this you ask her to talk to the other changeling in private to know his intentions, and maybe push him in the right direction in this case helping her to reach her destination with him as a personal guard because you know how hard her path will be after she leave Appaloosa.

On the one hoof, the youngling wasn't being very truthful about a lot of things, but she is right that Changelings don't get much trust in Equestria these days. Her story does make sense, and she has things that make it feel like a true tale. You can't exactly fault the adult Changeling for his actions, if he's supposed to be the guard for the Young Queen, he would be failing his duty if he didn't try to protect her, just like a Royal Guard for the Princesses. Tell the youngling you'll keep her secret for now, but that you want to know why she got separated from her guard.
