This movie destroyed you the same as me. Still remember when I saw you crying to the Ado Unravel live and thought that time that you're hard emotional person like me if music can make you cry that hard. Wasn't even hesitate for a second when I saw you reacted to Kimi no Na wa and went straight here from youtube. I was laughing hard seeing you crying that much because I was crying with you even though I saw this movie more than 10 times already. I highly recommend you other Makoto Shinkai movies like Weathering with You, Suzume or 5cm per second (this one is like 3 separate stories together, very life alike with first and last connected). Practically all Studio Ghibli's movies aswell as one of my best of the best: Wolf children. It's a beautiful story. Koe no Katachi which was mentioned here too is also a fantastic story. From my side I'd like to recommend a movie called Patema Inverted which is a strong 8/10 for me.

I know almost nothing about anime, but I saw one that completely wrecked me. It's called Grave of the Fireflies (1988). I definitely recommend it
