I knew you would like this wholesome film about family that reminds us of eternal values. It is traditional in the US to play this during December. After all the other guests were gone, I watched it again while visiting my parents on Thanksgiving night a few days ago. It's one of the national treasures here, and I'm thankful that you had the opportunity to react to it. Merry Bissmas!

That "bar for kids" was a soda fountain, usually in drug stores (I get a kick out of you calling them "apothecaries" like it's the middle ages), where you could get ice cream and sodas on tap. (Similar to how drug stores today also sell groceries, toys, knick-knacks, etc.) This is my favorite film of all, I love watching people see it for the first time - and no matter how cynical someone might be, I just wait for them to cry at the end like everyone does. Happy holidays.
