BoB helps to introduce to the brutality, this episode got a little rough at the end but don't worry, it gets worse before it gets worse lol.

Formed salt pills was provided to soldiers by a number of national armies during World War II to assist combatants in dealing with dehydration in hot jungle and desert environments.

When you finish episode 10, make sure that you watch to the very end. It gives the stories of the actual marines that are portrayed in the series. It’s very moving.

David Collins

I don't think you noticed, but the character Snafu was played by Rami Malek. You recently saw him as Dr. Hill in "Oppenheimer", the scientist that revealed Strauss as a snake in the Senate hearing that ultimately led to Strauss being denied the cabinet position he was up for. Malek is a wonderful character actor.

Andrew Morris

Also a USMC Gunnery Sergent on a firing range line can reprimand ANYONE who doesn't obey the rules of the firing range.

Lamar Smith

If you remember in BoB when Hoobler shot himself with that Luger? It was tucked in his waistband when it went off. It nicked his FEMORAL artery. So much blood flows through your femoral arteries that even a small hole causes such massive blood loss that you frequently die.

In the service, especially the Marines or Army, you run into the most despicable people, sometimes. You meet people that, if you had a choice, you’d get as far away from them as fast as you can. The guy who shares your hole with you, the guy who becomes your battle buddy, far as you’re concerned, if he’s a serial killer or the worst human in the world? So long as he keeps you safe and kills the enemy, there’s NOTHING you wouldn’t do for him. There were guys I knew in the Army I wouldn’t have peed on them if they were on fire but, in combat, I’d have risked anything to keep them safe and, if they were wounded and needed me, I’d have cut my way through as many as they wanted to send to save him.
