I'm so glad you're enjoying the show! Trust me, it keeps getting better. Izzy is a wonderful character, but it takes until Season 2 to really explore what's going on with him. It's worth the wait.

Ed using Stede's robe as a comfort blanket was so cute. Fun fact: It's believed that the real Blackbeard used to go for theatrics when raiding other ship to scare the people aboard. Pirates and sailors were very superstitious and believed in the supernatural so Blackbeard would sometimes roll up on a supposedly ghost ship, would use fog, would light his beard on fire, etc.

They had to cut off Lucius's finger because there were no antibiotics back then. It could become gangrene and kill him if not cut off before it reaches the rest of his body.

Glad you're getting some good use out of those handkerchiefs lol. Izzy is such a brat in Season 1, though I think you're absolutely right when you say he's jealous.

The whole organs on the left and right thing confuses me! We have useful organs throughout, obviously. But Blackbeard says all the useful organs are on the right, so he got stabbed on the left. Steve replies "what about the liver?!" But, in reality, the liver is on the right, and the "useful organs" (like stomach) are on the left...! Plus, he gets stabbed very low on his torso, which is actually all intestine. I don't know, I have given up trying to make it make sense haha
