A couple of familiar faces in these episodes! I'm dreading next week with what they've been teasing...

In this video I'm reacting to the episodes ""Love & Monsters" and "Fear Her".

Love and Monsters is generally considered one of the worst episodes of dr who. It's one of what are considered "doctor light" episodes that are filmed at the same time as other episodes for padding the series and saving some money on production, doctor light episodes aren't alway bad in fact one of the highest rated episodes of doctor who is from next series and is a doctor light episode. What I find really unfortunate about this episode in particular is that the monster was created by a child who won a competition on Blue Peter (a very long running childrens programme), and everyone hated the episode which must have really sucked for that kid in school. I don't really think the monster itself was bad in concept It's just that this episode really didn't do it justice.

Forgive me, I had to skip the Love and Monsters reaction. It's a horrible episode and I don't like it. I might watch it one day but I skipped to your Fear Her episode. The mom's actress not only was also in Good Omens, but worked with David Tennant on Casanova which was the project he did before Doctor Who. Loved your reaction as always!

Three fun facts: The Abzorbaloff monster was actually created by a kid in something called a design-a-monster contest, where the winner would get their monster in an episode of the show...though ironically, the kid himself was actually disappointed with the finished monster since he imagined it as being as big as a bus, not human-sized. The second fun fact: one of the most challenging scenes to film from 'Fear Her' was, of all things, getting that cat to go in the box. They had to do a lot of takes just watching the cat trying to convince it to go in...while the cat only wanted to go in every other direction. Also, 'Fear Her' actually predicted the future...somewhat. The actor who plays the Doctor after Tennant (I don't know if you know who that is or not yet so I'm not saying his name) actually did carry the olympic torch in, you guessed it, 2012.

Love and Monsters is definitely a... strange episode :D I've often skipped it in my rewatches, but your moaning Myrtle reaction was brilliant :D And the Olympics one is much better. I won't say anything about the finale except emotionally prepare yourself!

love and monsters is a very commonly hated episode within the fandom, but i personally don't really mind it? i feel like to me, the episodes that are just boring are the ones i tend to skip, but episodes like love and monsters that are technically "bad" are often still enjoyable because they're just stupid fun. like even if you don't think it's good, you cant deny that it definitely not boring. idk love and monsters is camp change my mind 🤷

Did I forget to tell you that last weeks episodes aired in the week of June 6, 2006, 6/6/06? They basically had to have a devil episode, that chance only comes once

Love & Monsters - So everyone will probably mention how this is considered the worst Doctor Who episode. Me, I think it's more that this was the first episode people could conceivably identify as "the worst" is what makes it stick in people's minds. Because over 15 seasons there have been some stinkers. And with so little Doctor & Rose in the episode it feels there's little gained having it in the series. - TBH it's my second time ever watching this episode and it's well-paced with punchy direction at least. - OMG, people carrying coins on them. Now you know it was the olden times. - The Abzorbaloth was a design created by a child as part of a competition. - I figured this episode was one of those typical low-budget "have you ever wondered what goes on with the background characters?" thing you see occasionally in TV shows. Fear Her - This is also considered a bad episode, but I don't how much comes from being paired together with Love & Monsters. - There was a much more complex episode planned with some big name, but then it fell through and they had to come up with a brand new episode quick. - Nina and David worked together even before this as lovers in their Casanova miniseries. - This fictional street is named Dame Kelly Holmes Close after a 2004 British olympian who got gold. - Lewis is the name of the sidekick to a very famous UK detective character called Inspector Morse. - The very first Doctor travelled with his granddaughter. Timelord families are understandably complex. - You can see their breath so clearly in some scenes despite being "Summer", I wonder if that prompted all the cold spot heat drain technobabble.

I can tell you the practical reason Love and Monsters exists, it's to give Billie Piper and David Tennant a break, the schedule of Doctor Who production is unbelievably busy, and it's a longstanding show tradition to very occasionally have an episode that moves the focus to another character. Ignore the fan hate and confusion, Love and Monsters as an episode RULES, it contextualizes the entire world that they live in and shows you a lot about the Doctor that this is a way in which he affects the world that you can't see by his side, it's a very valuable kind of episode to have once in a while.

If you wanted to throw out your schedule and watch the finale now I wouldn’t be mad

Gallifreyanqueen

"Why does that sound like Moaning Myrtle?" Because it is Moaning Myrtle.

YOUR FACE!!! Your face did exactly what I thought it would do at the end of that episode hahahaha

Excellent reactions, to two fairly lackluster episodes (to be fair), so good job! Weird episode? YES, I remember everyone thinking so when it came out. Nice phone case! :) And "I didn't need the confirmation" cracked me up.

The Doctor said in the Christmas Special this: ,,I wanted to be ginger! I've never been ginger before"... What color is the cat in ,,Fear her". Thats right... Ginger. The Doctor is jelous of the cat, that is why (I believe) he says ,,I don't think I am a cat-person".

Full disclosure, I skipped your "Love and Monsters" reaction, for the most part. It's just, not one of my favorites😬. That's all. 1:15:20 "FINGERS ON LIPS!" 🤣🤣🤣 1:21:00, the offended face you made, on the thought that The Doctor isn't a cat person, was hilarious🤣🤣🤣 Last edit: Without saying sh*t about the finale, good luck. I predict that you WILL cry! Get the tissue box ready! Sending lots of air hugs and love🫂❤️

I don't want you to see the next episodes either :D It's all so beautiful right now. I mean it gets beautiful too but yea - I don't want to spoil anything. I guess we all are going to cry to the next few.. Actually it'll be the first time for me too to ACTUALLY watch these last episodes of this season, cuz I knew what was going to happen and I never found the strength in me to watch it fully. I avoided it. So we both will go through this. Maybe it helps to know you're not alone? Idk anyways, love your reactions! <3

Fun Fact: The hand gesture that the Doctor and Chloe do is the Vulcan salute from Star Trek. 🖖

SauceyRed

I always knew it as just the alien salute, never knew it came from Star Trek
