"We got cats, and we got lesbians"...now all we need is cat lesbians. Though I guess there's always She-Ra for that. Also, I don't know if you noticed, but those were the same four Daleks we met in the season 2 finale. In fact, just before the Doctor and Rose sucked them and the Cybermen up into the void, Dalek Sec could be seen teleporting away. Oh, and one thing I can say is that I did not know what the line about 'being into musical theatre' meant when I first watched this episode, and now that line is way funnier to me. By the way, have you seen the Amazing Spider-Man movies, because that was Spider-Man himself (Andrew Garfield) playing Frank.

docter who allways manages sneak in some political jab based on ignorance thewall street crash was caused by stocka per margin a practice only taken on by the working vlass blaming the rich is like that shooting meme the one where the guy kills somone then asks why is he dead working class people gambled ans caused a world wide crash and now blame people who had no involvemnt Stocka per margin is the practice of people who had no place in the stock market taking loans to get stocks The bank pays 99% of the stocks value u pay 1% as downpatmeng the bank gets paid back by the stock increasing in value its literaly gambling be fine if was people who are well educated But the average worker in the 20s was not , the stock market boinces it drops and rises but uneducated people panic when see the drops so what happens all these people with their margin stocks panic aold the8r stocks at the smallest drop causing the val7e of stocks to plumet faster causing the banks to crash The banks took the hit as the people panic selling only took 1% of the risk the bank took the other 99 banks use money to fund local buisness so buisnesses crashed causing job loss Similair issue with 2008 crash unreliable uneducated people took out loans and high risk morgages alot bad decirions and iresponsibke loaners led to a hedge fund to colapse hedge funds fund morgaes and the house market so the destruction of a major hedge fund colapsed the house market snd seing how it was caused by high risk loans the banks and hedge funds began having stricter rules on credit score leading to the curent issue with no one will sell u a morgage anymore Same outcome working class do somthing stupid crash the marketthen refuse any responcibility blame anyone but themselfs and push for laws which make the situation worse

Gridlock - I have no idea why but that couple from before the opening titles who die are dressed like the couple from the famous American Gothic painting. - If this is New New York it really should be called the Highway instead of the Motorway. Junctions and laybys are also UK terminology. - Doctor Who was always good for surprise gay. In a time when depicting gay people was so restrictive the show always made the effort to swap a pronoun or change what would normally be a bog-standard friends/siblings relationship to a romantic one so that queer people had a presence. - As you mentioned, the showrunner is gay. He cut his teeth in TV making a show called "Queer as Folk" that was a frank and sexually graphic drama about gay male relationships. - That guy in the bowler hat sounded distinctive. I looked up his IMDB and he has hundreds of video game voice over credits. - The Macra appeared in episodes with the Second Doctor, but those were lost along with many other episodes as they were just taped over. I really wish we could see how 60s budget TV handled 2 storey crabs. Stopmotion maybe? Cardboard shadow puppets? Daleks in Manhattan - Ha, you usually only see our best actors who can do flawless American accents - Hugh Laurie, Christian Bale, etc. But there are so many bad impersonations out there. This episode is filled with them. - This 2 parter was not well regarded. I liked the concept - the most deadly things in the universe keep getting defeated so they proactively change themselves, but the execution was not to my tastes. - "I know this happened a long time ago..." - I'm afraid it never stopped happening. Tent cities are dotted about all over the US. Every so often a place's mayor will order the police to brutally clear them, detain all the residents, and destroy all their belongings. - Andrew Garfield isn't the first movie star who got their start on Who. Keep your eyes peeled and you'll see more big names over the seasons. - The Luigis were most active during the Gilded Age that ended a decade or so previously. The fact that society still suffered through end-stage capitalist collapse with the Great Recession and that subsequent gains in social and welfare programs relied solely on FDR's admin having the vision to see through the New Deal does not bode well for us. - I was also grossed out by the human-dalek's design. Those hideous face tentacles, the neat white teeth, and the bulge of its cyclops eye.

This is a gross distortion of history and has no basis in reality. I could go on about the role of the Federal Reserve, agrarian overproduction, and total lack of regulation or oversight on bank loans but I think most people can just read "people panic selling only took 1% of the risk" and try and square that idea with how many ordinary people immediately lost their entire savings and homes when the stocks crashed And I don't know who did such a number on you that you could have lived through the 2008 recession and blamed it on the "stupid working class" given the predatory loans and repackaging of toxic assets by companies like Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. That's one hell of a bubble to seal yourself off in.

the macra are a returning monster from the 1967 episode "The Macra Terror"... they were sapient in that episode but as stated they devolved in the motorway

Aw :) -"You're Weaponizing David Tennant against me!" :DDDDD -Doctor Who is excellent at pulling on your emotions, creating side characters that you care about, and making a LOT with a limited budget. The pigman jumpscare, Lazlo and Tellulah (3 L's and an H indeed..) etc makes for some quality writing and production. -Oh, you have SO much more emotional turmoil coming... I look forward to following you into it :)

BY THE WAY- hope you see this, just fyi the VERY LAST episode of this season (3x13) has some scenes cut in the HBO Max version. they're not massively important and the episode is still easily understandable without them, but I thought you should know in advance. Idk if the downloads you were originally watching has them, I just know they aren't included in the Max episode.

The stock market crash of 1929 was one of Alastors favourite years. from Hazbin hotel. And Alastors date of death was 1933...i know they're 2 completely different shows but i thought it was just a fun little quirky fact since this is set in 1930.

One very disturbing fact is that... Remember the girl at the beginning of the episode who forgot her parents?... Those parents came back at the end of the episode when the Doctor reopened the highway... Yeah. And there are presumably more people like that, we just only saw her.

You're welcome. There are things like that in DW where it seems ,,innocent" at first, but the more you think into it, the more painfull it gets... Mostly with things NOT shown in an episode and just there in the background of the episode. (Or sometimes episodes)
