Such an emotionally conflicting episode! I still don't know how to feel about Della.

I think Della's main problem is that after twenty years of adventuring with Scrooge...she kinda felt she could handle anything, that she was invulnerable! I mean, it was just a test flight...what could go wrong?

I don’t care for Della Ducks character but I can definitely appreciate them making her a amputee. That’s pretty diverse and amazing to see on a cartoon! As always, I loved your reaction Morgan, it was great! Keep up the good work!! 🙂

So this is a bit of a history lesson, but the moon and Della's music have immense significance in Ducktales. In 1989 a Ducktales video game was released on the Nintendo and was an unexpected smash hit. Particularly popular was the Moon stage and this music track that played during it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0evYaCV5QA (If 8 bit audio is unpalatable to you, the game and its associated music got completely remade with an orchestra in 2019 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoH89vxiQDk). When talking about the game or Top NES games in general, people would always reference that level and its music as a core memory. Essentially it's a deeply-ingrained audio-based trigger tied to the memories of watching 1980s era Ducktales as a kid. And now as adults people got to hear it again in this episode both as an action theme (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHLAZoNB0Vg) and as a moving lullaby (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJW5n8f0Z9o), enhancing Della's story in a swirl of emotion and nostalgia. It's one of those "you had to be there" moments but it left its mark. I leave you these fan covers of Della's lullaby: https://youtu.be/d-DapWaNSpM?t=59 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APQdgFdSyxo

4:32, yeah, she lost her leg, and built herself a prosthetic leg🦿, of rocket parts😃🫴🚀 5:20, "No intro or nothing!" I never even realized🤣 11:35, "Dollar *$* sign. I KNEW IT!🤣🤣🤣" 🤣🤣🤣. Predicting it literally 1 second before it happened, 👏🏼🤣👏🏼🤣👏🏼🤣👏🏼 30:05, "Oh no. NO, THAT'S HOW YOU END IT?! YOU 🤬MF'S🤬!!" Agreed! We we're FINALLY getting somewhere, and then it just stops! Goddammit! 30:15, "Lance Reddick? Lance Reddick, oh my god that's so familiar. I'm gonna- I'm gonna look this up real quick hold on... 31:28, "THORDACK (I hope I spelled it correctly)!! IT'S THORDACK. My spit just went everywhere, I'm so sorry🤣🤭. It's F* Thordack from Vox Machina (hope I spelled THAT correctly too😂)!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I haven't even watched Vox Machina! 32:00(hopefully last edit), "Julie Bowen" HOLD ON!! That's Claire Dunphy in Modern Family! OH MY TITAN🤯!!! All these years, and I never even realized😅🤣

I think the words you were looking for were dangerous, stupid, reckless maybe even a little bit selfish?

Rotom

Not only that, but they actively worked with people who have a prosthetic leg in real life to make sure she was done as accurately and respectful as possible!

Excellent reaction video, looking forward to some of the upcoming things you'll get to 'enjoy' ;) Keep up the good work!

Really? I did not know that snippet of information! That’s beyond amazing!!

Della's story is so complex. Im a parent and the idea of being so reckless to do something like that is frustrating but at the same time with how much she went through, I feel bad for her. It's all just tragic. Also, Julie Bowen, if you've ever watched Modern Family, that's where I know her from. She played the mom, Claire. I also agree about loving how the triplets have behaviors from their mom. It's nice seeing the similarities. Thanks for the reaction. Can't wait for the next one!
