Consider me intrigued! I loved the stop motion vibe of this pilot as well as the overall style of it. I'm looking forward to more of this show!

Living forever would be great, if we would just stop being assholes to each other.

The "reverse Hell" is actually a reference to "Dante's Inferno" by Virgil. In it, all of Hell is toured. At the very bottom, reserved for Traitors, is a frozen abyss where sinners are imprisoned. As there are 7 Sins, there are also 7 Virtues. Looks like for the purposes of lore here, a Rottling's brain is stuffed into a robotic shell that serves as a given Virtue. Wonder if there's symbolism there, saintly beings as artificial constructs. Just another wretched member of the population deified to serve as an authority.

Finally got around to watching this. That was awesome. And to answer a question you had early on... it refers to the fact that street lamps were originally powered by gas lines before the era of electrification. It helps evoke an era in the setting even though it's probably set far in the future. That's all it means, no need to look deeper, I promise!

Fun fact, when the Virtue's brain is pulled out of the robot shell... it's coated in regular normal human blood, not purple. It's a cybernetic shell, these guys have been around since the curse began, keeping their brains alive artificially, the only 'real' humans left... brains watching the world and guarding the entrance to heaven.
