That "white light" was Krypton exploding... putting a crimp in their Earth invasion plan. The "Krypton was invading" storyline is unique to this version of Superman's origin, I believe. Because you don't know much about Superman, you get a lot more surprise reveals than someone who is more of a fan and is sorta expecting these reveals, like the General was Lois's father.

i have seen multiple other pieces of superman media, most of them also involving sam lane, and for some reason i was also shocked by the reveal that the general is lois's dad 😅 i fully should have clocked that so much earlier and i didn't lol, but i guess at least it made watching the show more fun for me that i didn't guess the twist?

At least in the YouTube version, the Kryptonian is actually translated in the subtitles, he said “You don’t understand! Wait!” then Clark leaves, then he continues in Kryptonian, “I’d never hurt you” then concludes in English, “My son”

General Lane, one of the highest members of the US Military. In this version he's a member of Cadmis a secret black ops group who offically doesnt exist. An interesting direction for the character but honesty one I love
