It's normal and commonplace for characters to be recast after a pilot is picked up, especially when it's an indie production picked up by a major studio. Happened to me a few times - it's unfortunate, but it's the nature of the game. The new cast is awesome, and amazingly talented. They did a fantastic job of taking up the torch. But man... Still hurts saying goodbye.
