Every frame of this show is so gorgeous. Also, I just want to take time to appreciate how music - good, popular music that I would listen to on it's own - is used so masterfully to enhance the story. This deserves all the praise, we can't criticize the bad without praising the good.

I'm the exact opposite. 9 times out of 10 when pop shows up in a movie or tv show it instantly takes me out of it. I had to mute every montage in S1.

I get you. I'm not always a fan of pop music either, I'm more of a metalhead myself and maybe popular wasn't the right word to use. I just think that arcane has a way of weaving it in so well that it makes scenes just awesome. I recommend you go and listen to the original Heavy is the Crown by Linkin Park (they played an alternative version at the end of episode 1) because you'll realize that it's not your typical modern pop song and also their new singer is just really good. She's originally a metal vocalist that's why I like it so much.
