"You've got red on you." I enjoy all these movies but this my favorite of the trilogy. This was actually my first "grown up" zombie film I ever watched. I was quite young when it came out, too young to watch it but that didn't stop me :). This film started my love for zombie movies; both the funny ones and the serious ones. Haven't watched the reaction yet but I hope you two like it!

Robert Durant

Oh I cannot wait for you two to experience the insanity of their next film of the trilogy, my personal favorite...HOT FUZZ.

Ludus Aurea

Let’s gooo. You’ll need to watch this many times to catch all the references and the quips. The script and the jokes and the cinematography is brilliant. References to dawn of the dead, actual Timesplitters 2, a literal Chekhovs gun and so much more.

Oy prick!

If anyone needs a netflix copy, Denmark is available

Loved the reaction. This movie is a classic! If you've not seen it, Warm Bodies is another zombie movie with a comedic/romantic twist to it.

We still getting Equalizer 3 ??

Robert Robillard

In Due Time ... Ari & Denise have a Large Amount of Reaction Requests to get through. I'm Sure, they will get to it, Soon ... Patience is a Virtue & Respectful. 🌻

A smart film made by people who clearly love cinema and the genre. Like Zombieland, they know what is classic but also have good ideas how to actually break the conventions and still somehow stay true to the history. So many nods to old films, so many clever script moments and so many clever ideas. Add to that some brilliant comedic timing and you get a lot of excellence. Like you also talked about, the directing and camerawork is so well done. That tracking shot being re-used in different scenarios, the editing, some fantastic angles and overall just smart camera usage. Zombie-movies of old are almost always ensemble pieces, closer to theatre than film. Nowadays there is a lot of leaning on scale (like in World War Z) which is cool, but the older versions always focused on the characters. Shaun of the Dead clearly carries on this noble tradition. Why can't we make it fun or romantic if it's mostly an ensemble piece anyway? No reason at all, said Pegg, and he was right. The acting overall is very good. Pegg especially stands out with his range in this one, but Nick Frost as well has some brilliant moments that isn't centered around his comedic ability. Re-watch the scene where Shauns mother dies and catch the short cut to his face, then tell me isn't a good actor. All the cast members has clear moments where they get to shine and they are very loveable and easy to connect to, like real humans. Yes, David is a twat, but who hasn't known a person like that in real life? His behaviour is completely believable, albeit annoying at times. Same can be said for pretty much every one of the central cast. I also want to give a shoutout to the effects. With a modest budget and skill, you can accomplish great things. Everything is practical and looks incredible. With clever editing you can make most things look real. This film is yet another proof of that statement. All in all, a delightful time and I'm so happy you got to experience it! By the way, for another interesting take on the Zombie-genre, I would recommend Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016). If you are not familiar with the original story, it would be advisable to first check that out. My favorite version so far is Pride and Prejudice (2005) with Keira Knightley. A double feature perhaps?

They don’t always do the franchise films back to back. And in a comment under a recent video Ari said they are finishing the equalizer trilogy before they get into another franchise.

Cameron Smith

Glad you did this! I mean, you have to watch Hot Fuzz next. Same director with the same actors!

Robert Robillard

Ari & Denise, do not "Have to" Watch HOT FUZZ Next .. They have Many Movie 🎬 Requests .. If they Decide to Watch it, they will .. in-Time. Be Patient & Respectful .. REMEMBER : You do not Call the Shots & Decide what Movie, they React to Next - Ari & Denise, Do - You've Requested it, NOW, Wait patiently for it .. just as other PATREON Subscribers Do, with their Requests. Definition of the Phrase "Have to.." • that something is Required or Necessary or Need to Be or a Must be Done.

This is a cracking movie and I really enjoyed the chance to watch the full length reaction. Have you heard of the movie Anna and the Apocalypse? It's another horror/comedy zombie movie, that also has a number of musical numbers...
