I saw it opening weekend in IMAX. If was fine but not amazing in my opinion

Now I feel old, lol, I haven't actually even seen this one yet. I think it's the first MCU movie I've never seen. I have it but have never bothered.

I've similarly drifted away from Marvel stuff lately and I don't think I found any of their TV shows worth existing - well, until Daredevil came back, anyway. I think I more or less agree with your closing analyses. Honestly, I was not looking forward to this movie. Knew I was going to watch it, but I was prepared for the possibility of rolling my eyes 10 minutes in and turning it off. Wasn't nearly that bad, but still somewhere in the lower 3rd of Marvel movies. But on the topic of opportunities, I think the main one they squandered here was making the whole thing about how Sam doesn't have powers. He should have been sweaty and out of breath constantly. Doctors should have been tsk tsking him for overextending himself. He talks about the pressure and weight of the legacy foisted upon him, and I think they could have represented that in a physical way, where there are times when he should just stay down, and we as the audience WANT him to stay down, but he forces himself back up anyway. His injuries should be BAD bad. Like, he looks better after his fight with Ross at the end of this movie than Rocky did after fighting Apollo... c'mon, what are we doing here. Give me missing teeth and bones poking through skin. And it should have been HIM in the hospital bed, with Bucky coming to visit him.

Awesome movie I'm glad marvel took a step back to the incredible hulk version of a hulk with red hulk I miss the old hulk . I need ti rewatch this a couple times to get all the little details I missed but overall great choice in movies
