I've seen so many people defending Abby and saying Joel was a villain because he killed all the Fireflies and condemned humanity. Yeah, Joel struggles with that, too. But, the thing is, the Fireflies just jumped right to "Kill the girl, this one person who could be the cure, on this single test without knowing if it works or if we can even really do it." And they did it without giving her agency. Here we are constantly arguing over bodily autonomy and we're all gung ho about taking that away from Ellie and when Joel finds out that they're going to kill her without giving her a choice for something uncertain, so he fights to save her, he's suddenly the one who's doing wrong? Hell, no. I'm not saying he's a good guy. There aren't any good people, really, in TLoU, and that's part of the story. But, trying to paint Abby as righteous is a mistake a lot of people (not you two) make. She's out for revenge. Period. She wanted to torture and kill the guy to killed her daddy. Joel wanted to protect an innocent girl who was tricked by people she trusted into sacrificing her life. That doctor wasn't innocent. He was going to kill someone he'd lied to. He never got consent.
