Horror movies don't usually get to me anymore, but I remember when I watched this movie for the first time in high school and I went to school the next day and told my friends I just watched one of the scariest movies I'd ever seen. To this day it still freaks me out. It's the sound design in the film clips that really does it for me and I think that in general the slow tension of the sound in horror movies scares me more than anything else. I hardly even flinch at jumpscares anymore.

I forgot how good this movie is. On a re-watch it's so much more obvious that the kids must have done the murders (possessed or not) because "Mr Boogie" appears in the footage at the time of death. The first time he's seen, there's a bit of a misdirect because you might think it's reflection in the pool water--but he's not holding a camera.
