Kill Bill Vol 2 FULL LENGTH REACTION

Comments

When the 2 films were released, there was no question of a volume 3. Quite a few years later, I read vague rumors about a sequel in which Nikkia, the little girl from the very beginning, would try to find Black Mamba and avenge his mother, but I don't know if the project was really considered or if it was just a wish of the fans. At the time, Tarantino explained in the DVD bonus that Elle (the one-eyed chick) was Kiddo's double negative: physically, they look the same, but morally speaking, Elle is Kiddo's antithesis. She says she respects Kiddo (in both volumes) and she introduces the black mamba snake as her friend, but she's the bad version, the despicable assassin. You can see the symmetry between the two characters when the screen is split in two, but it's an inverted mirror. Elle is the one who does not respect her master, who kills her enemies in their sleep or by poisoning them. It is for this reason that she dies in a disgusting place and in a gruesome way, unlike O-Ren and Bill, who die with a certain elegance. O-Ren, not Elle, was the potential friend, the respectful and respectable enemy (is it any coincidence that the woman who spared the pregnant Kiddo, and her sponsor, have half-Western, half-Asian names? You're not supposed to kill a pregnant beast while hunting. It's a kind of moral code. Just saying...) Budd is the bad version of Bill. HE chooses sadistic murder. I'm obsessed with Tarantino because I can find connections everywhere in his movies. In Kill Bill, I like to think that Kiddo killed every enemy with their favorite weapon. Beatrix suggests that the knife is Vernita's signature weapon and it was with a knife that she killed her. O-Ren has changed her haircut, adopted the most traditional Japanese style and gets scalped by a Japanese sword, in a truly traditional fight and setting. Budd intended Beatrix's death to be painful AF and one can imagine how painful the aftermath of being bitten by a black mamba can be. Elle is going to die by the bite of the snake that she herself had taken in her suitcase. And for Bill, you said it yourself, it's quite poetic that he dies from a Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique. I could tell so many more things... find links everywhere in Tarantino, even where it's actually just pure chance. Anyway, thank you for the reaction, I never get tired of seeing this masterpiece.

You pointed out some great parallels! I like when the writing and the way they show things in a film comes back full circle or have a deeper meaning behind it. Very clever writing and a great understanding of how to film things. I was so surprised when part 2 of the story went more into character depths and dialogue. In fact that last scene where Bill and Kiddo are having a conversation has to be one of my favorite scenes in Kill Bill. Thank you for watching this with us. Always a joy to read your perspective 😄

Don’t forget kudos to the real star of Tarantino’s films; Zoë Bell. She is an amazing stunt woman and has a role, as herself, in Tarantino’s Death Proof. Which has ALL THE FEET. I highly recommend Death Proof with Kurt Russell and Rosario Dawson. I can’t even describe it suffice to say it is perhaps my favorite muscle car movie of all time. The chases, the crashes, one car drives through a boat! And I think Kurt Russel licks Rosario Dawson’s toes. If that’s not in the movie, I may have had a fever dream that I was Quentin Tarantino. Anywho, check it out!

You’re in luck! We’ve seen Death proof months ago. It’s a Patreon exclusive so it’s not on YT but it’s on here! 😃
