Tbh I personally was not a fan of the film . The writing was more focues on the guys backstory then the actual restaurant and robot s wich the hull game evolves around along with The lack of jump scares. There was the two forced one as well . was disappointing along with most of the kills not being shown. Then you got some of the side characters forcing there acting perfect example would be the aunt . But for me it came down to the writing felt cluttered and agin focused to much on the guy and his brother . IMO 2/5

Yup! Right there with you for the most part. It's a fun time for what it is but man...some of the writing was rough. It makes sense though. They tried adapting like 3 games and put them in a blender. We were really surprised by the lack of horror. Not so much the jump scares here and there. The atmosphere and practical sets/Animatronics were fantastic. But honestly unless you know a bit from the story before hand I cannot see how a newcomer could enjoy this film. We judged it both as fans and also as a standalone film. And as much as it hurts me...as a standalone film it is pretty average.

It was fun watching it with you but yeah, not my cup of tea. Edit: y'all want some movies that were weirdly good freaky movies? Dark City, the Genetic Opera, and the Adventures of Baron Munchausen. If you need a break from contemporary horror, give them a shot
