IMPORTANT: Hey guys while formatting this for Patreon I noticed that different versions of this film had different opening credits. Because of that the sync will start as soon as Daniel Brühl's name pops on screen! We left the picture on for a bit to make it easier for everybody. Thank you for watching! Hope you enjoy ❤️

Comments

James Forrest

Hahaha :) This is a pleasent surprise :) I had no idea you guys were doing this movie! Tremendous, tremendous film, absolutely wildly crazy of course but well worth watching and covering. I hope you're doing Once Upon A Time In Hollywood next ;)

Mike

I hated this movie the first time I watched it. I may give it a 2nd watch with y'all. I'm a huge Tarantino fan, so, maybe I just needed better ppl to watch it with lol.

dieselbeast

This film has always been in my peripheral vision because I enjoy Brad Pitt a lot but QT's directing style is an acquired taste IMO I enjoyed Reservoir Dogs, Hateful eight and django unchained but that's it lol I'll give it a go with you two 😁

danzogonzo

I'm super... 🤪EXCITED🤪!!

Gisele Luz

Yesss, another great movie!! Let's go!! 😄😄😄

Stephen Caveney

I'll give this a watch later after my DnD game.

James Forrest

Yeah that was a great afternoon's viewing :) It was the first time I had seen Christopher Waltz in anything, as far as I can recall, but he was superb, and when i finally got around to watching Django I enjoyed him in it that much more based on his wonderful performance here. I have seen Brad Pitt do off-beat performances (12 Monkeys has to be seen to be believed) but this is his most out-there film, and I loved every second he was on the screen. The Basterds are a great cinematic creation ... I have always loved though how Tarantino's movies contain little oblique references to other great films. Great that you noticed the Don Corleone nod! His movies are so meta it's crazy! There's a good example in Pulp Fiction, when Marcellus sees Butch as he's randomly crossing the street, that's a direct reference to Marion Crane seeing her boss walking across the road in Psycho. The Basterds themselves are basically Kurtz and his renegade armies from Apocalypse Now ... ("The VC knew his name by now, and they were scared of him ...") it's fabulous. The performances across the boards were just outstanding and the sheer joy he takes in movie-making is obvious. You said it yourself, Ari, you never know what to expect from him. There are few film-makers out there who can do what this guy does so consistently, and creates great characters, great moments, great dialogue ... but more, great, great stories. Check out Fargo, No Country For Old Men and The Big Lebowski; the Cohen Brothers are amongst the only others in Hollywood with that much talent and the capactiy to surprise you with their inventiveness. Guys, that was great :) You have to check out Django, The Hateful Eight but most especially Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, it is bonkers lol. But before any of them, if you haven't yet seen Jackie Brown ... wow. You're in for a treat there too!

danzogonzo

Fun fact... Quentin almost didn't make the movie because he could not find an actor good enough to play Hans Landa. Christoph Waltz came in and blew him away. He's amazing in Django Unchained also 💯

Lucas

My favorite Tarantino movie and one of my all time faves....The last line says it all- This may just be his masterpiece 100% lol

Mister Lou

Wow.. Tropic Thunder, Return of the King AND Inglorious Basterds?! I feel spoiled with greatness! keep up the good work! Hope you get around to Death Proof at some point. I love that movie.

Blaze118

Lord of the Rings and Inglorious Bastards. A week of good reactions! Looking forward to you continuing the Lethal Weapon films! Hope you 2 have been good!

This showed up while I was at work, and my first thought was, "Hey, I'm off tomorrow. Let's pick up a bottle of whiskey on the way home and watch this tonight." Cut to the basement scene with Fassbender and everyone's ordering whiskey and Ari mentions he's a whiskey dude, and I'm like damn, did I make the right call! lol

MotoDork

This is Tarantino's greatest work. It's damn near a perfect film.

danzogonzo

One more fun fact! The Bear Jew was played by the movie director Eli Roth! He directed "Hostel" and his newest is "Thanksgiving", among others 🫡

The best whiskey comes from Kentucky, and we call it bourbon. And the best bourbon is Woodford Reserve.

God, I love Tarantino. Basically every movie is insane and wonderful. So much fun watching you guys enjoying films I've loved for a long time. Cristoph Waltz is amazing in this one to the point where it's almost ridiculous. As always, great commentary from you. If you want to do more Tarantino, you really should check out Reservoir Dogs, my favorite and his breakthrough. The Hateful Eight is also fantastic, very much worth a watch. His part in Four Rooms is also quite unique.

Derek Logan

U guys should do United 93

We've been having a blast with Tarantino's films so far! There's a couple more on our list we need to get to! 😄

TheMediaKnights

We oftentimes give films we disliked a second try just to make sure. Sometimes it's the mindset and you realize you actually enjoy it quite a bit and others you just double down but have a more concrete idea of why you dislike a movie. Worth giving them a second viewing!

TheMediaKnights

He is consistently good and every single film of his that we've watched has been a thrill ride! Loving these films so far, can't wait to check out the rest. Adding these suggestions to our list!

TheMediaKnights

So glad Christoph Waltz got the part! He is insanely good in this. He fully controls every scene he is in.

TheMediaKnights

He's done some insanely good films! We are thoroughly enjoying his style and the way he expresses himself while nodding to some other big moments in cinema history. The dude loves what he loves and you can tell!

TheMediaKnights

Just made a curated Tarantino playlist! If you click on the Tarantino tag you should be able to find it! ❤️

TheMediaKnights

We've been so lucky to watch all of these phenomenal flicks! Last week was a highlight for us! Lethal Weapon 2 is coming soon ❤️

TheMediaKnights

Both hilarious and chill inducing. The guy sure knows how to create tension and drag it just the right amount. What an incredibly talented director!

TheMediaKnights

Ah Woodford Reserve! We are big on whiskey, both bourbon and scotch. Favorite scotch being Macallan 😁

TheMediaKnights

We've been loving every film we've seen of his. His style has so much...style! Love the way he expresses himself and his love for cinema with his direction. Thank you for your suggestions ❤️

MotoDork

Come to my Commonwealth of Kentucky and we will travel the Bourbon Trail together!

One more thing... In the beginning, when Landa lets Shoshana run... It's because he wants to hunt her. He is the "Jew Hunter" after all.

Subtle System

Eli Roth is the Bear jew... he's a cult horror director .... also, I don't think Pitt is trying to do Brando... , he moves his cheeks and jaw in weird ways throughout the film... like in the first swastika knife mark he has the same jaw as the Brando look at the ending ... and one more thing... do you guys don't know who Mike Myers is? You seemed to only reference the "Halloween" character.... but you guys do know who Mike Myers is, right?

Subtle System

It makes sense that Landa wanted to make the deal because in 1944 everyone knew that the end was near... they knew once america landed on france and russians on east the war was over but they would not surrender ... hitler was in a bunker for his last days before he "killed himself" ... so it makes sense Landa being as smart as he is, to get out and make a deal... in fact ... a lot of high ranking officers fled to south america and other parts of the world with the help of the catholic church ... they knew it was over , a lot decided to kill themselves, others fled and few were actually captured

Hi guys, I came back to this private room for Inglourious Basterds (also, my finances are better LOL). But it will also be a way to rewatch Pulp Fiction, Terminator 1 and 2 (I never tire of them) and Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which I loved. It's really good to see you both again :) It would be really great, too, if you could start a series that I love. But there are already plenty of great things to rewatch in this magnificently decorated private room :)

Sandra Germain

Please guys react to Blue Eye Samurai! This animated series dazzled me as much as Arcane did... Top-notch quality, I swear.

danzogonzo

Blue Eye Samurai was amazing... I'm very excited for the next chapter also 👍 her mission is far from over 🫡

danzogonzo

He got the part because he could speak all those languages fluently and act, in Quentin's direction. That's why it was so difficult for him to find someone.

Jim Finley

In the first scene, that shift in Waltz's expression from jovial to deadly is one of the best pieces of acting I've ever seen - and without a word. It was like watching a mask drop away.
