It was 100% an animation mistake. He didnt absorb the jutsu. He used Susano'o. It didn't happen in the manga and the Rinnegan can't be deactivated after it is activated. Don't try to canonize it.

Lord Mu's power was cut in half, and it takes a lot of chakra to summon something like a Edo Tensei. Just like when Jaraiya was teaching kid naruto to summon the toad, he needed a large amount of chakra to do so. It's the same principle.

Btw in 322, the first time you see Madara with the Rennigan is an error by the anime staff, seems like an animator used a frame for that scene that was meant for a later scene. The first time we are meant to see Madara with the rennigan is when he absorbs Naruto’s Rasen shuriken, so yeah the anime team accidentally spoiled us haha. This was later corrected in the DVD versions.

The rinnegan on Madara that you noticed before he absorbed Naruto's rasenshuriken was actually an error in editing (impressed you noticed immediately!). In that fight, Madara technically "awakened" the rinnegan when he absorbed the rasenshuriken.

As I've mentioned before, McKay is the real villain, with his subtle side smirks to the camera, and Carter sometimes turns to see McKay's expression to try to figure out if something good is about to happen or not. One of the best reactions from the geks. Jack is always excited about everything. I thought Carter was going to be the one to spot the rinnegan first and say something about it, but it was Cannon. Carter, I know you struggle like everyone else in those first three episodes, but it was worth it to see your reaction to Madara’s episode. McKay, let the Gek community and Geks know, “Do not misunderstand, this is not the power of your creation,” for giving us this reaction and holding down the torch for the Geks to continue watching Naruto Shippuden. I know Brig is happy for the geks and the community to finally arrive at this arc.

The way they portray just the amount of aura Madara has in the Shinobi world is so good, people having to hype themselves up to even move their body, people literally praying to their God, just the sight of him and the thought that they were about to fight THE Uchiha Madara made people fear for their lives and then he brings their fears to fruition by beating all of them pretty much without breaking a sweat, that's an unmatched kind of aura.
