I just finished the reaction. Glad to see people watch Star Wars for the first time. The only advice I can give is to get more mics. I could hardly hear the back row and I knew something was wrong when I hardly heard Jack chatting lol. Maybe 1 or 2 more mics to cover everyone. It might be more work on the editing side but it's only for these huge videos.

Technically it’s the first episode ever released in 1977 but nowadays it’s called episode 4 because they released a prequel trilogy in the late 90s and 2000s which are now called episode 1-3

Cannon, you said your opinion is that Vader is the best villain, but do you think Anakin's arc is good? In my opinion, his arc in the prequels is executed very poorly. Clone Wars helps tie things together, but there are more interesting and compelling villains in that show, like Maul.

Can anyone give me some advice to do with Star Wars. Ive never really been a big fan, but I think ive only watched the most recent 3, and the anime 'Visions'. Can I jump straight into the reaction or do I absolutely have to watch other ones to understand this one? Because I know that the movies release order isn't necessarily when they take place in the timeliness.

You're right Carter, this was originally just called Star Wars. The movie has also been changed by Lucas quite a bit from the one that released in the theaters. The Jabba scene was not in the original release. At one point Lucas wanted to make as many as 12 Star Wars movies. I had never noticed how much this movie hints at a romance between Luke and Leia until now and its so funny. Its also bizarre how the first 30 minutes we're just following around 2 droids. This movie must have seemed insane if you watched it in the 70s. I agree with Addy though, I prefer the prequels, which is probably true for folks who saw the prequels first as kids. But Empire is 100% the best Star Wars movie, and just one of the greatest movies ever made, period. Excited for that reaction!

I don't remember ever seeing this one, maybe parts of it on cable TV. I don't have anyone who's into Star Wars around me, But have seen the prequels in cinema more than 10++ years ago. Hmm Queen Amidala in red was a significant memory from childhood and Darth Vader's head on display at home. Yep, it felt old but definitely enjoyed it! Can't wait for the next ones!

I always find this movie so charming. It wasn’t carrying the weight or expectation of what a Star Wars movie is supposed to be, so it has a very experimental, quirky vibe. There’s so much time in the beginning that’s just droids being goofy little guys, so many bizarre alien species, lots of mysticism. I’m not a complete hater of Disney SW, but I don’t think any new SW movies could take risks like this one did
