"Being afraid isn't a bad thing, it's my fear that brought me this far" the quotes in Frieren man. Being fearful of adversity is never a bad thing, it prevents recklessness and is a very human thing. Stark is such an amazing character because even though he has always been scared and uncertain his wish to protect others (in this case the villagers) brings out the courage in him, That's what Eisen saw him in that made him a incredible warrior imo. His character can be pretty relatable to people. Stark is a very brave character in my opinion, Stark should never be compared to Zenitsu his fear is more than a gimmick, its part of his humanity.

This episode actually means a lot to me and changed my life for the better, just like Vinland Saga. When Himmel says to Eisen, “then would you prefer a painful journey full of suffering instead?” That line really changed my brain chemistry. I know it’s fiction but they are out here saving the world and it’s expected for them to suffer but yet they choose to have fun. A lot of times, in my studies and working out at the gym, I fault myself for not trying hard enough. “No pain equals no gain”. That mindset made me very depressed and also discouraged me from trying again because it was never enough. Now I only study/gym to be happy/satisfied even if I don’t push my self to my limit. I ended up studying and going to the gym wayyyyyy more often with this new mindset. I realized I don’t have to min/max to be successful and now my grades are up and my body is so toned. I don’t always have to do all my sets or study for the max amount of hours. But most importantly, I can reach all my goals while being happy! Life doesn’t need to be full of suffering yet sometimes I needlessly do. (Just like how Eisen wants)

Was really looking forward to y'all getting to this episode. I think it's where you first get the complete idea of what this show is. There's the deeply emotional and human part of this show, and then there's the great action and showing what kind of heroic feats it took to take down the Demon King. There will be some episodes from here on that will allow the story to slow down and develop things, but buckle up. When this show gets going, it gets GOING. This is the studio that did Hunter x Hunter, after all.

I doubt they're gonna do doubles guys so no point in begging. They're already doing 3 a week so it will be done in 9 weeks start to finish which won't even take us up to the season 2 start date. 3 a week is already loads compared to the channels who do one a week 🫶🏻

When the party does get to Aureole I've always wondered who Stark would see. Frieren will see HIMmel, Fern will see Heiter maybe even her parents. I've always theorized Stark might actually see Eisen there not knowing his master has passed away and tell him about their adventure there.

I love how honest but strong Stark is, how impatient but direct Fern is, and how Frieren is wise in magic but still learning in emotions. Our journeying group is so cool! And the flashbacks are always soooo good!

The flashbacks are integrated so well. Normally, when a show does a lot of them, I feel like it takes away from what's happening (Demon Slayer is a good example at points). But with Frieren, it really does help elevate the story.

Eisen’s hand on Little Stark’s shoulder as if to make sure he doesnt fall off the ledge is such a precious detail and great characterization of them as people and their relationship. The animation when fern sits next to stark in the tavern is so unnecessarily clean. This show is so good

Frieren not even trying to ask to be let through after the guard stopped them is always funny to me. Because when you think about all the time she's lived before the Hero's Party defeated the Demon King, and that during that time it's possible no one gave a shit who she was if she were to ask to be let through, of course she'd never think to try asking lmao.
