I really hope Mappa or Madhouse adapts Tokyo ghoul, since wit is busy with one piece remake. It deserves a great adaptation it’s such an amazing manga.

I know it’s a common theme with yall giving high ratings but that frieren opening is soooo mid man. Song is completely forgettable and the visuals are completely whatever. It should not be higher than a 5 if we being real. Otherwise solid ratings all around, I would put OP op 3 a bit higher, the song is insanely catchy and the animation is super unique and well done. Stand on business Jack I’d give it an 8.5 too!

I know the 1st one piece intro is iconic but op 3 gives me crazy nostalgia with that intro. I wish toei redid some of their old ones like that instead of remaking the first one so many times.

as someone with one piece as my favorite piece of fiction of all time… I don’t necessarily like most of the openings but I think they match with the show really well. HOWEVER, 2 of the later ones (both by namie amuro) are in my top 10 openings ever

I feel like when people talk about ‘iconic’ or the 'best' anime intros, for most they are referring to the song rather than the animation. Newer anime definitely put way more focus on the visuals, but for stuff like Tokyo Ghoul and MHA the music is fs what makes them top tier for people. You guys also just have different taste in the songs themselves, so your rankings are lower than most which is valid but unexpected lol

I’m genuinely shocked y’all didn’t rate one piece opening 3 higher, the new technical standards that anime openings have now are great don’t get me wrong, but I feel like op 3 just has a vibe to it that goes well with the series overall it has a lot of heart. shout out to jack man I woulda rated it about the same or a 9

the 8 ratings on the early MHA stuff makes sense to me tbh, though I have always really liked the second one specifically for the stretching scenes ngl 😂 it's just really pretty anatomy that my art brain loves (also seeing All Might jumping past his reflection gives me big DC vibes for some reason and I just love it). I find the early stuff is kind of repetitive, but the openings (and endings) get much better as you get later into the series, so I'm looking forward to seeing your opinions on those. My favourite opening was Tokyo Ghoul btw, been in love with that song since the anime came out 💖
