Arkha is such a cool character. The designs of the characters in general are really top notch, but I love how his eyes have that grayish tinge to them. Just gives off this really calm vibe while the larger jacket over his shoulders gives off a real badass General Of The Armies one. The voice actor does a gteat job, too. And Merry Christmas to y'all! Greatly looking forward to you guys reacting to the rest of Gachiakuta as well as all the great stuff about to come out.

Also another reason why i love this show is the black representation, Jabber (even though he's a rat), Semiu and now we're introduced to Corvus who all have amazing designs and look like normal black people. The mangaka subverting the trope of the typical "anime boss" look is very refreshing to see :)

I get what you mean by the “typical shonen formula”, early on it’s kinda doing the underdog/outcast + learning-the-world/power-system setup. I think a lot of shonen feels formulaic at first just because it’s laying the groundwork. But imo Gachiakuta is one of those shows where the uniqueness of the story isn’t fully obvious this early. The world/themes start separating it from the usual formula.
