Hey everyone!!! Hope you all are having an amazing night! We just finished watching the first 2 episodes of season 2 (🤯😱) but have a question…

So as you all know, me and cannon HATE spoilers, and do a lot to avoid having any pre knowledge to upcoming events in the show. Like we don’t watch the intros, we don’t look at episode titles etc. a lot of the YouTube comments have been telling us how important the season 2 post credits scenes are. QUESTION- since me and cannon don’t like spoilers, should we watch the post credits scenes? Or are they kinda spoilers? I know a lot of people say it just hypes you up for what’s to come, but we prefer to see everything just when it happens in the show. Let us know!!!

Chase Akins

imo, DO NOT WATCH

Gabriela Mantilla

Pretty much you have to watch any post credits if the “to be continued…” hasn’t popped up because that mean they’re important; but if the “to be continued” screen has already happened it’s worthless

Proximity94

Was it really season 2 though? I don’t recall anything spoilerish so much you have to avoid it at all cost.

Jake the Movie Geek

I don’t really think they’re all that necessary. Most of the time I don’t watch them. And I think since you guys are going the extra length of not watching the intros or even the episode titles, I don’t think you should. As others have stated the end credit scenes are only for episodes that don’t end with the “To Be Continued” sign. If they end with the sign then you’ll just see a little trailer for the next episode

Khai GK

I don't know why they're saying that it is a spoiler, they wouldn't put it there if we weren't meant to watch it smh.

Khai GK

I don't recall season 2 having any post credit scene though

Justin Callang

I don’t really remember Season 2 having post credit scenes. But there’s a bunch in Season 3 and 4. But since you guys are quite adamant about steering clear of any possible spoilers, just keep doing what you’re doing and avoid them.

Flare

You definitely should watch the post credit scenes. Not sure why people are saying not to, they're there TO be watched on a first time viewing. The intros are kinda spoilery so I get why you guys don't watch those, but the post credits scenes are important to watch. A lot of them are like the one you guys saw in the season finale, they pretty much just tease you and make you ask questions The only one that you might not want to see is the one on s3e12. It basically shows a tiny bit of a crazy scene that will happen in the future. Personally I'd say you should watch this one too because you'll have no idea what's going on, it's purely there to cause the viewer to speculate what's happening and its pretty crazy how they do it. It's a huge moment for reactors in general. Just make sure you guys don't watch the next episode previews that are at the end of every episode (I'm sure you guys already skip those)

lydia

Do season 2 have post credit scene spoilers?? I don’t remember🤔 But I’m sure you will hate season 3 part 1’s post credit scene spoiler. So make sure you don’t watch that one!

Crewe

You should definitely watch post credits scenes but those are different to previews. If you're unsure, for AOT, a post credit scene will be shown always before the 'to be continued' screen (not the end song). Every time a post credit scene is shown, it is meant to be seen. Previews for the next episode are what you should skip.

chaosmerchant

Post credits scenes - yes Preview for the next episode - redundant currently, due to the binge no?

Lux Omnia Vincit

I would say don’t watch it. Probably, after Season 4 Part 2

Clown

Flare

Nah, I don't think there's any in season 2 actually. They're mostly 3 and 4

Pedu

You should watch the post credit scene only if the "To be continued" card is not shown before the outro. Everything that is after the to be continued is just a preview of the next episode. The single exception is ep 49. As for the intros and outros you should definetly react to all of them after you finish the show.

Flare

I think you're thinking of s3 part 1 (s3e12)

TheBookerDeWitt

Post credits BEFORE "to be continued" are part of the end of the episode. Definitely watch them! If its the 15 seconds after the "to be continued" then I'd say nah. Yall already watchin so quickly, no need to be excited for next weeks episode lol.

Pedu

I recommend you to watch AOT on Funimation. I know the subs can be crappy at times, but they are the single platform that streams the blu-ray version. It has lots of reenchanced shots, better shading and colors, bonus shots and added elements. Do it at least for the final season, becausee of the change of studio there were a ton of visual glitches in the TV version.

Jawrool

What are these comments on about!? The episode is not over until you see the To Be Continued screen. That is all. Every other opinion about them being spoilers is false, it’s context that adds to the current events of the show.

kiiturii

pretty sure in aot the post credit scenes aren't necessarily previews, they're unique and are meant to be watched on the episode

Linnea anderson

imo opinion no,watched the intros etc from the start and didn't spoil it for me and it was made in that order so

Sapirhr

It’s part of the episode. You should definitely watch it

JIMBO

I'm in the same boat of not watching the material after credits, but some stuf is original content and you can usually tell what's the preview of the next episode and what is post credit content

lydia

Except s3e12. If they say they hate any form of spoiler, that one is a no no. But other post credit scenes are totally fine lol

Robin Gonzalez

Rule of thumb is if there is no "To Be Continued" screen before the credits, then there is a post-credits scene you should watch.

esie ♡︎

in my opinion, i would skip. typically post credit scenes will just play right after the credits and in AoT sometimes during the credits, and if that happens, then yes do watch it but if after the credits play, and it says “preview”, don’t watch it. it may be unique to the show by the dialogue, but for your first watch, i would skip. if you want to ever watch it again (which is an amazing experience) then watch everything.

esie ♡︎

i did end up checking all the post credit scenes in season 2 and they are all previews. do not watch.

sesaka

Its basically a trailer for the next episode

esie ♡︎

there is a scene during the credits of 3x49 (3x12). some might disagree with me, but i feel like like you should definitely watch it when you get there.

Prince Diamond

There are no post Credits in season 2 I think some in season 3 and definitely season 4

Devzy 793

The best way to know about a post credits scene is if the "to be continued..." doesn't show up before the intro. The post credits give context to scenes that'll seem very confusing without them. Particularly, there's a huge moment in season 4 you'll be massively confused about without seeing the post credits

Leon

I believe you're confusing post credit scenes with the preview that shows the next episode DO watch post credit scenes, if there are any DON'T watch the preview for the next episode

Flare

Shhh don't tell them anything about it, let them go in blind

rdot

Yes to watching the post credit scenes. They leave you with more questions than answers/spoilers. It will initiate great speculation talk. In regards to s3x12, you get zero context to the scene so it leaves you speculating until the very scene comes up. It definitely adds to the suspense and doesnt take anything away from it. The post credit scenes are intended to be watched which is why the 'to be continued' frame doesnt come up until after the scene. It is all part of the watching experience. Just like the post credit scene of s1x25. The suspense isn't the same when they reveal it at the start of s2x01. Having it revealed in the post credit scene added to the suspense going into the next episode. I can understand avoiding the intros but post credit scenes are completely different as they are still part of the running episode. Although you guys will enjoy the show anyhow, I think not watching the post credit scenes takes away from the full experience that was intended

Sean Carroll

1. Season 2 has no post credits scenes. 2. Most post credits scenes are important before heading into the next episode, if you didn’t watch the season 1 finale post credits scene you would have been unsure why there was a titan in the wall. There is one post credits scene in season 3 which is completely unimportant despite people who will constantly tell you to watch it, it’s useless though. Write this down: post credits scenes to watch are s 3 ep 19, s 4 ep 4, s 4 ep 11, s 4 ep 23 and s 4 ep 27

Xeons

Post credit scene is part of the EP imo, until you see “to be continued…”.you should be fine

Monther

If you’re talking about the next episode preview that shows at the end after the credit, DON’T WATCH IT, Unless there was a scene after the credit and before the preview, that’s what you should watch (although I don’t recall if there were any)

H2KKI2

The post credits are part of the episode. It's not really a spoiler, it's more like a to be continued

Hann Klim

Post credits are not spoilers they just add to the story

Elina

Definitely watch them, it’s just more of the episode, not really a spoiler. A general rule of thumb for aot is to keep watching until you see the “to be continued” screen, so if it doesn’t pop up before the outro that means there’s a post credits scene that you gotta watch!

jordan solomon

the post credits definitely can have some images of things yet to come however there’s little to zero context surrounding those images so i wouldn’t categorize it as a spoiler

Sylisen E.

You have to watch them, they are part of the story telling as much as the episode itself for me

Pedu

Yes, but as far as i know they didn't moved the content too, funimation still functions as an independent platform with its own content.

Jeffrey

I also recommend watching the post credit scenes. Some of necessary. You might want to avoid 3x12 post credit scene. You can watch it after finishing season 3 part 2, and tell us whether it was a good decision or not. Because if you like to speculate you may get more information out of it than normal and it has the potential to ruin your free from spoilers experience. Also I think it's fine to watch the season 2 ED (ending) maybe 1 or twice, if you haven't already.

teagan

wondering if you are gonna watch the ilse's notebook OVA

Saphira

I never watched them! Except for the one at the end of season 1 ep 25, but there was no other season for me to get spoiled. I find that without watching them I got a clear picture of the story, but some other comments said, that as long as there is no “to be continued” sign you should watch and I find that a great way to not get spoiled anything.

Jag_227

I would not watch the one at the mid point of season 3, then. I think it's fine to watch, but if you two are THAT much against mild spoilers and such, I don't think you will enjoy it.

kev

Opening, Ending, and Post credits - yes || Previews, no.

Ray

Hey, I don't want to tell you guys how to watch and experience this show because I believe everyone should enjoy it in their own way, BUT.. I would suggest leaving the questions and back and forth conversations for after the episodes. When you were watching Episode 22 I noticed you guys missed a few key lines of dialogue that REALLY hit deep or are really hype. It may not be too bad of a thing right now, but in the next couple of seasons you guys will be so lost if you're not paying attention. Especially since you plan on binging it so you can be caught up when the Finale comes out. There's some really great moments I'd hate for you guys to miss because you're having full on conversations. If anything just start pausing the video if you really need to bring up the questions. Hopefully I didn't come off like a dick. I just know that when I watched it, by myself, and read every line of dialogue, I was still lost on a lot of things. I could only imagine how lost I'd be if someone was trying to converse back and forth with me.

brian

definitely don't watch previews for season 2 especially, you will def get spoiled

manderlee

That’s what I thought too—I don’t remember post credit scenes in 2 just 3-4

manderlee

Season 2, if I remember correctly, doesn’t contain post credit scenes. It’s primarily season 3&4 that do. Regardless, I don’t see the potential problem for y’all watching end credit scenes. When I tell y’all they are so vague it’s crazy. If you just think about how articulated the writing has been in foreshadowing just in season 1, then it is the same way in the end credit scenes. There’s nothing to be spoiled bc it’s all foreshadowing and you won’t know what any of it means UNTIL you see it starting to play out. It’s like your building a puzzle and Isayama has secretly stolen some of them to only give them back a little bit at a time. Only towards the end of the show will you really start being able to piece it together and be like “oh wow I’m starting to get it now.” So ultimately I think you should watch it. It’s fun being confused for so long then finally realizing you understand it!

Anarkhie

post credit scene - yes, previews - skip

manderlee

I just have to add that I really think you should watch them especially s3 ep49 ending/post credit scene (iykyk)

OrangePudding

I was also going to mention S3 episode 49! I really liked the ending credits for that one and tell all first-time viewers to at least watch that one...I'd maybe have someone else screen it first to see if Cannon and Carter would consider it a spoiler.

Corsair Jeffery

yea but they said they don't like spoilers and that specific post credit scene is still spoily lol

Val

Avoid post credit scene for episode 12 of season 3 (or episode 49) because it is a major spoiler for something you'll see anyway in the next few episodes. Season 3 is split into two parts and episode 12 was the end of part 1 so they threw in a scene at the end as a sort of cliffhanger since part 2 wouldn't come out til a year later. You guys are practically binging the series so there's no point in watching this end credit scene. I'm almost certain you guys will feel spoiled if you watch it 😂

L.Lindberg

So first, after each episode, there will be a bit with relevant scenes that I recommend you watch THEN it'll say something like "Next time" and that will be the spoilers for the next episode, so there you should stop.

UI

you should always watch the post credit scenes. they aren't spoilers. they just a bit more information that they wanted to give to you but couldn't fit it in the episode

studiogek

Don’t worry, we always try to pay as much attention as we can and this is a great reminder! Definitely sometimes when things get going we can get caught up in reacting to it for sure. Need to be more mindful about that.

David Herrera

In my opinion the show itself is full of "spoilers" that you don't notice until your second or third re-run. It's like those moments when you just get all confused about what's going on, and the post credit scenes do the same, they kind of fuck up with your mind and get you spiraling, and to be honest I would love to see your reactions to those scenes.

David Herrera

Just like the S1 post credit scene, is it really a spoiler if you don't even understand what's going on? You just get the feeling like "What the hell is going on?!"

Shaniya Williams

Personally I think everything you NEED to know is within the episode so in my opinion don’t—especially the previews. Watch everything in “real time”
