I'm writing this from a beautiful remote homestead near the Southern tip of Haida Gwaii, where we've been welcomed graciously and I've been able to use WiFi.

Yesterday, we crossed the Hecate Strait and entered the magical waters of Haida Gwaii. On the way, our Starlink internet set-up unexpectedly stopped working.

This means that after we leave here later today, we will be completely offline and unreachable for the next week or two, as there is no infrastructure in the remote areas that we are travelling in. Our only communication will be our short-range VHF radio, and our EPIRB rescue beacon if we have a real emergency.

Consequently, I won't be able to release a video next weekend - sorry about that! But I'll be working on editing while we travel and should have a video ready for whenever we get connected again.

Now that we're here in Haida Gwaii, I really want to acknowledge the Haida people who have suffered so greatly and who have worked so hard to win back some control of their land, and I want to thank them for allowing us to visit Gwaii Haanas - the Islands of Beauty. I hope that while we are here we can document something of this powerful landscape and culture in a way that is respectful and genuine.
