As with any shakedown cruise, there are lots of bits and pieces that we are fixing and improving as we go. For instance, our anchor chain was not fitting into our chain roller properly, which was causing friction and wear. In a real stroke of luck, we found a metal-lathe tucked in the back of an old workshop in the very remote town of Shearwater, BC. The machinist had passed away several years ago but we were told we could use the lathe if we wanted to, and so Bob was able to modify the chain-roller to fit the anchor chain! …I’m currently editing the full story of this modification, which will feature in the next video.
