I'm honoured that Tally Ho has been nominated for the Classic Boat Awards 2025! There are a lot of really wonderful boats in the line-up, and the winners will be decided by public vote - if you'd like to take part and cast your vote, please do so by following this link.

Tally Ho is in the "Restored Sailing Vessel over 40ft" Category, but make sure to check out the other categories too!

(I didn't choose the category, so don't blame me if you believe "restored" is the wrong term!)

I come at this as an 80 year old guy who has spent a lifetime sailing on similarly sized or larger boats with a woodworking hobby. What made the rebuilding videos so captivating were (1) the enormity of the project, (2) seeing how each construction task was carried out, (3) having interesting characters involved in the process and getting to know them, (4) seeing the skills brought to the project by the skilled helpers and watching the skills develop in those that did not come with boat building skills, (5) the exellent video production and additions of appropriate music, and (6) the developing story line with an inevitable end in sight.
