Fossil technologies, so quaint and complicated!

Great job ! Might want to take off your watch when sinking your wrist down into the crevices with scratchy metal stuff. I'm sure your gasket is fine, but in 10 years you'll want to inspect it carefully, and have a replacement available because sometimes the gaskets come out in pieces. To prevent that "oil leak" you talk about, you might want to inspect and wipe down both sides of the gasket, and make sure not thing on either piece of mating metal in the engine. (No leftover wood shavings filtering down from the overhead deck. Ha-Ha.) Or, just call one of your many friends. I'm sure that a dozen folks would be willing to work on your engine for free. Sail on, friend !
