I'm very happy with how the layout turned out and the contrast between the Teak and the Cedar is beautiful. The deck will be left raw like this and will grey out over time, which is the traditional approach. Finishing the deck with a varnish-type product typically makes it too slippery in wet weather, although some oils can be used. Painted decks can be very practical, but obviously in this case we want to see the deck planks. The TDS caulking system is generally designed for raw decks, as very few products will stick to it.
