Zeal is fastening the Chainplates! These bronze straps were cast by Port Townsend Foundry and will hold the rigging that supports the mast.

Many years ago I snapped the mast while sailing on my folkboat because the single chainplate pulled right out of the hull and the mast was then unsupported on the windward side. That was right after I bought the boat for a song, and it taught me a valuable lesson about properly surveying the condition of a boat before sailing it! I repaired the mast and the refastened the chainplates through new frames and planks.

Tally Ho's 6 main chainplates (three per side) are seriously strong and are bolted through thick Live Oak frames AND the bronze hanging knees on the inside of the boat - so there shouldn't be any chance of the same thing happening here!
