More beautiful bronze hardware for the rig, made by Port Townsend Foundry. This is the gaff saddle, shown here mounted temporarily to confirm some measurements for the sailmakers. Eventually the gaff will be mounted in the bell-shaped piece, and this hardware will hold it in place against the mast and be hoisted (with the gaff and the sail) from the large shackle on top. The leather on the inside of the saddle protects the mast from chafe and crushing. Below the gaff saddle you can see the steam-bent Ash mast hoops which will hold the luff of the sail to the mast.
