Happy Thursday Roomies!

Please enjoy our conversation on last year's (sleeper?) hit Nimona! Revisiting this movie a year later really makes me wonder...did we not appreciate Nimona enough??

  • Ranking 2023's Oscar nominated animated movies
  • A rare Netflix W?
  • Where does Nimona rank amongst all Netflix animated movies?
  • The best animal Nimona shapeshifts into is ________
  • Graphic novel vs movie differences (shout out Claira)
  • Chloe Grace Moretz, underrated? Overrated? Neither?

Hope everyone enjoys this episode!!!

i saw rise of the guardians in theaters with my sister (i was 7 years old) while my older brother and mom went to see breaking dawn part 2. my movie ended first so we ended up going into their theater just in time to see the part with alice’s vision and i’ll never forget the gasps in the theater at that part!

I remember when watching Nimona for the first time, I went in completely blind. When I realized there was a gay couple, it honestly made me so happy and giddy. I don’t think I’ve ever seen (at that point) a gay couple in animation before. Especially with Boldheart being a person of color, I just felt so connected to him and felt so seen. This movie will probably always hold a special place in my heart for that. It’s also a big reason why representation is so important, younger me that felt so alone would have love this, and seeing it now comforts my inner child.
