isn't he nascent soul now not pale core or did he regress his cultivation? and he grew bigger wouldn't he have a higher cultivation or am i missing something?

Uhm, he went from Core Exaltation to Pale Core Formation. Not to Nascent Soul... I explained it in the chapter that due to the state of the world (chaotic), the normal way of growing stronger (which is going through quickly by the Core Exaltation Realm by Heavenly Tribulation) is unachievable. However, due to his unique path (Path of Embodiment), he is condidered an "anomaly" by the Heavens, and such, the Heavens tried to eliminate him with attackd at the level of a Nascent Soul cultivator.
