February Poll Results! (Patreon)

Alright, folks! Time to tabulate those poll results!

I actually intended to have this up yesterday, unfortunately I've come down with a sinus infection and am only getting things done in fits and starts while meds are working, then laying around uselessly and suffering when they aren't. Honestly, it's not a huge surprise, I might as well live in a bloody swamp, and I usually get one sinus infection every single January. I was hoping to get out of this one without one, but it was not to be, sadly.

Anyway, I did finally manage to get the vote counting done...and we have a half-expected upset on our hands! Let's take a look!

Harry Potter: Pandora's Box - 93 + (90% Boost) = 173.7

One Piece: Halfway Broken - 159

Mass Effect: Eridium Dreams - 55 + (130% Boost) 126.5

Those that really wanted to see something other than Halfway Broken win pulled together for a darn impressive showing even without the boosting. With the boosting, we have a firm and unequivocal win for Harry Potter: Pandora's Box, making our second ever upset of Halfway Broken! Sadly, unlike in December, February is far too short for me to attempt an extra for Halfway Broken. So this does mean it won't be updated next month.

Never fear if the results weren't to your liking, though! If you're a Halfway Broken fan, remember that the Pandora's Box update will reset it's boost to zero. Meaning, unless we get a significant influx of followers for it, it likely won't present solid competition again for at least a few months.

Meanwhile, for the Mass Effect fans, boosts will continue to accrue for Eridium Dreams, and it's been putting up a solid showing every month. And, of course, A Very Confused Pokémon Adventure has continued to be very strong every time. It will also once again start getting a 30% boost as of next month's poll, which will put it as a strong contender that will only get stronger if it doesn't quite manage another upset.

Frankly, I'm rather pleased with how the Boost system is working out so far. It was never meant to allow less popular stories to dominate the updates. It was only meant to give them a solid chance at periodic significant updates. Which is exactly how it's working out so far. I also do have a small treat I've been working on, off and on, that might come out next month. But it's a big might, as it's only a pet project that I've been playing with for fun.

Anyway, we've got our results! Harry Potter: Pandora's Box managed the upset finally and will be updated as the third story next month!

P.S. For the two patrons who actually made the effort to guess the cameos/references in chapter 107 of Automata...yep, I added your extra votes in from the game! And they made a not insignificant difference! As did the extra votes I give a certain Patron who volunteers major editing for me on their own initative ;-).
