Popularity Poll: Automata vs Halfway Broken
- My Hero Automata 68
- One Piece: Halfway Broken 205
Alright, folks. I've been promising this one for the last month or so. When I first started this Patreon, My Hero Automata was the single most popular of the initial fics I launched. At that time, that solidified is as one of the two stories that got guaranteed an update every month. Originally, the other guaranteed fic was Mass Effect: Final Error, as it was about 80% complete already at that time.
Eventually, of course, Final Error wrapped up. When it did, it was blindingly obvious that Can One Displaced Hero Save the Galaxy? was the most popular of the secondary stories when it happened. One Piece: Halfway Broken didn't even exist yet, as Halfway Broken actually replaced Displaced Hero as the new option in the Poll stories when I made the obvious choice to push Displaced Hero up to replaced Finial Error. Up to that point, I'm completely confident I was updating the two more popular fics every month, then allowing voting to decide the third slot.
Then I introduced Halfway Broken and it went on to win so often and so hard that I had to institute the vote boosting system, lest the the other stories never get updated at all. It won elven straight victories, only finally being displaced by a mildly boosted (only 30%) A Very Confused Pokemon Adventure. Which was, itself, practically new at the time it won and has consistently performed well since then, even managing another such defeat of Halfway Broken.
The thing is, that while My Hero Automata remains immensely popular on two of the three platforms I publish on (not including Patreon), I'm no longer sure it's one of the two most popular stories with you, the Patrons. Several others have also questioned this, leading up to this poll. Note that, while everyone will be allowed to vote, this will be a weighted poll.
Frankly and bluntly put, I'm not exactly willing to piss off all the Patrons who go above and beyond in supporting me. If it turns out that they tip the scale more one way or the other...then tipped the scales shall be. Also note that My Hero Automata is the closest story to an actual ending. So there's that, too. Though it's still a ways out. The story was originally intended to cover only their time at UA, and they are approaching their third year before too much longer. Though the fan-chosen diversion to engineering/worldbuilding has brought where and when it will end into a bit more question...
TLDR Version: Vote for which story you want to see updated every month. Loser ends up (or stays in) the monthly poll for the third update slot. Winner becomes/remains one of the two stories that get's updated monthly.
