Chapter 30 Author's Notes: AN 1: This chapter pretty much exists to show the passage of time and more 'normal' events still ongoing. New projects, dates, quiddich matches, and so forth that make up everyday life at Hogwarts.

It's great to see this updated! I'm increasingly curious as to who's got the diary and how exactly they're achieving their attacks. The previous ones could be done by a possessed student with prep time, maybe even the treants too, but reshaping and animating the Hogwarts Express seems like it should take more power than any one person in Hogwarts could muster, especially in a relatively short time-frame. On a lighter note, I enjoyed meeting the Bells, and now that you've put the Ruby Rose comparison in my mind, I can't unsee it, and it's hilarious. Thanks for another great update.

Actually, I didn't think of this until I was typing up my comment above, but now I can't get it out of my head: does Hermione have the diary? Assuming her circumstances are worse than canon given the different troll attack, she'd probably be particularly vulnerable, and scoring as high as she did in the year-end rankings could have put a target on her back. Another thought, possibly disconnected, but Dumbles and Co seem to be focusing on humans, but it's just been pointed out that House Elves are powerful and often overlooked, so now I'm wondering if there's some connection there, maybe family elves smuggling potions and ritual items in? I guess we'll find out in 5 months when this gets another update ;P
