Don’t love the “teachers hate him for being a commoner and all his classmates do too and they’re all incompetent” trope. It feels too easy for Kai at this point and it has for a while. Anybody that isn’t Rain or an heir from one of the major noble families is fodder

Thanks for the chapter. Good to see Kai can accept the reason for being called out. The professor wants the students, including the aristocratic idiots like Forlow, to internalize the need for combat skills and to get them to realise that if they weren't in the top ten, they really have room for improvement. The interesting question is where are the rest of the top ten finishers if this is a mandatory class.

I don't think the teacher doesn't like him, he's just using him as a prop to hammer home his point. He was just as harsh to the nobles as he was Kai. And his class mates are jealous, we haven't actually seen the reactions of the other top performers to him but I imagine most of the middle of the pack nobles are feeling jealous. Plus they're all mages, they aren't in a combat course, I'd be surprised if more than a couple had ever been in an actual fight

"...provided with a pair of wear for fitting sparring.” I might be missing something but this sentence makes no sense to me. I gather from what follows that they were essentially given a magic PE kit but the sentence itself makes no sense.

Agreed. I expect the author meant something like been provided with a sparring unform or perhaps a pair of sparring uniforms, but his thoughts out paces what he actually typed. I am not sure what the fitting refers to, perhaps mispelled fighting or there is a missing loosely so it could mean been provided with a loosely fitting sparring uniform or been provided with a pair of loosely fitting sparring uniforms.

I like it. The prof has to get it through the kids' heads that they suck at combat, nobles in particular. So he likes finding a kid that's been through shit and using them as a tool- harder to tell yourself your Yellow classmate set things up to bully you. In walks the commoner 1st ranker who ate a spider den for breakfast. No social Skill. Almost like he got to yellow by surviving dangers. Prof: Is for me?

I wonder which of the top 3 Kai will fight. Rain (5) and Alden (2) are in different classes, 6 is in Martial studies and 9 is in Artisan studies, but that does leave 3, 4, 7, 8, and 10. Probably not going to be 3 or 4 due to future smackdown reserves so I am betting on 7, 8, and 10. Also, I just noticed in the ch 362 top 10 list that name wise it looks like 1-5 is all guys and 6-10 is all gals.

Thanks for the chapter! I don't care what people say, I'll always find joy in Kai beating up these stuck-up nobles 😂. Also I just looked at the top 10 and there's someone with the same surname as the noble that Kai just beat... coincidence? 🤔

It would be interesting to see a sympathetic one help him deal with navigating noble politics. Reputation can be a great shield if you can make use of it, Kai is just avoiding it and so makes himself a target
