Update 1.3 for the Safety Car App (Patreon)

WHAT'S NEW :

• Safety car flash lights for the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Black Series safety car :

  * Copy the files in the folder named “flashing_lights_mercedes” to the car installation CSP extension folder (generally …\content\cars\ bg_mercedes_amg_gt_black_series\extension), where the “ext_config.ini” file is.
  
  WARNING : this will overwrite the original “ext_config.ini” of the car, so backup it first if you want to use the car normally (driving it) later.
  
  

• Qualifying session management

Now you can start a race weekend in offline mode with AI cars. In qualifying, the app will just keep the safety car in the pit during the session (it will set no time and start the race in last position).

• Safety car spawning position

Some people reported the issue that when the safety car appears before the leader, it sometimes get stuck and don’t move (and cause a real mess among the AI competitors).

The app tries when starting to set automatically the safety car spawning spot, but in some tracks (I don’t really know why), this default spot make the safety car stuck in the track.

So it is now possible to set manually the spawning spot with the app – if you experience issue with the safety car spawning. Just watch the video below which explains everything :

Others settings you can enable/disable:

·     Display VSC instead of FCY : just displays “Virtual safety car” instead of “Full Course Yellow”, everything else stay the same.

·     Disable caution in first lap : no yellow flags, no FCY, no safety car in the first lap (it seems that on some tracks, it helps the AI not causing a mess). Note that this is only for the app, yellow flags generated by the game remain.

·     Radio messages : a voice will alert you for green flag, yellow flag, safety car, … The messages can be customized (see below).

·     Display pitstop times : if the AI cars do pitstops in the race, their pitting times are displayed by the app. You can also check these times during the race by pressing  the Divide key (/) in the keyboard numpad.

·     Calculate  automatically safety car duration by entering the min/max laps number

Customizing radio messages :

You can record your own voice (or anyone else voice) by using some recorder software as Audacity, save the files in MP3 format, and use these audios with the app. You have just to respect the file naming (otherwise the app won’t find it).

Don’t record long messages and keep the file size small.

·     “fcy.mp3” : full course yellow declared by race director

·     “get_ready_restart.mp3” : the race is about to resume

·     “green.mp3” : GO GO GO ! (floor the throttle, green flag is waved)

·     “sc.mp3” : safety car caution declared by race director

·     “sc_in.mp3” : safety car in this lap

·     “vsc.mp3” : virtual safety car declared by race director (if you checked “Display VSC instead of FCY” in Settings tab)

“yellow.mp3” : yellow flag declared by race director
