"im trying to think back to early on what littlefinger had a hand in" well, he claimed to ned and cat that the dagger used to attempt to kill bran belonged to tyrion, which led to cat capturing tyrion and everything else from that

Littlefinger was Master of Coin for Robert and held the position until Tyrion. Should you assume that Littlefinger has shared everything with the Tyrells or just what he wanted them to know to achieve his plans? The man Liza brought into the room was the Septon who was to perform the wedding. Neds bones were sent to Kat and she sent them on North to be buried.

One final comment.... I know all the things to come. Who, what, why, and when...but what amazes me is how many small details I had forgotten that are coming back with the rewatching. Your reactions and theories just add so much enjoyment to the return journey to the end.

Random episode to make this comment on but- I feel like you guys rarely talk about the music in the show, aside from the main theme being a bop. What's your thoughts? Personally I think a show especially in this genre lives or dies by its music and GoT would not be what it was without it 🥰

Please please tell me you're finishing season 4 before Nick's holiday lol the 2 weeks after will be almost as excruciating as us waiting a whole year to watch what's next :P

Yup - the Lannisters had nothing to do with Jon Arryn's death. The one thing that propelled all events in Game of Thrones. If Jon Arryn never died, King Robert never goes north, and never asks Ned to be his Hand. Littlefinger engineered all of it, including the letter that blamed the Lannisters.

Joe Brown

conflict was inevitable but yeah littlefinger kicked off the events as we know them

"the greatest sword fighter who ever lived didn't have a sword?!"

SMD

Little finger was master of coin for the crown, not for the Lannisters. So he would’ve known that the crown was struggling and that the Iron bank and the Lannisters were funding the crown, but he would not have been aware of the Lannisters financial position in anyway because he was not privy to the Lannisters ledgers. So all theories that sprung from that inaccurate well are 👎

Not that I expected otherwise, but I really appreciate that you guys have somewhat of a soft spot for Sansa. She gets a lot of hatred from the fans, and it really does seem like a lot of that is based just off of her being a bit of a bratty teenager in S1. I feel like she's more that gotten enough hell for being a sweet summer child years before, and Sansa arguably goes through the most consistent torture than any other character

-- King's Landing: Tommen's coronation takes place and he officially becomes the next king. In the throne room during the reception, Cersei approaches Margaery and asks if she still wants to be queen. Margaery looks a little confused by Cersei being so agreeable, but I think she understands that she is just trying to get Mace Tyrell (one of the three judges in Tyrion's trial) to go along with what she wants him to do. Margaery even tests the waters a little, pushing Cersei by calling her "sister" again, which she had previously threatened her life for doing. Later, Cersei and Tywin meet in his office and plan for Tommen and Margaery to marry in 2 weeks time. Despite Tywin claiming that he cannot discuss the trial with her since he is also a judge, she tries to influence his vote by trying to convince him of her point of view as well. Tywin also breaks the news that the Lannisters are broke - all their gold mines are completely empty. They have borrowed tons of money from the Iron Bank over the last few years and are in massive debt, which is part of the reason they need the alliance with the Tyrells. Next, Cersei gets to work on the third and final trial judge, Oberyn. She appeals to his love for his sister by talking about how neither of them were abe to save their loved ones. She also tries to relate to him by talking about their mutual love for their respective daughter(s). -- Meereen: Daenerys finds out about Joffrey's death, and tries to decide if marching on Westeros with her collective armies of Unsullied and Second Sons would be a good idea. Barristan and Jorah give some conflicting opinions on this plan, but then Daenerys learns that both Yunkai and Astapor have fallen back into chaos - freed slaves are being recaptured and the governments are being overtaken. She realizes that if she can't control Slaver's Bay, there's no way she can control the seven kingdoms. She decides to stay put for the time being and take care of business in Essos before moving on. -- The Vale: Littlefinger and Sansa arrive at the Eyrie, but Sansa is posing as Littlefinger's neice "Alayne" for safety reasons. Her aunt Lysa of course knows who she is, and tells her she'll be safe now. Once they are alone, Lysa tells Littlefinger she is ready to marry him immediately and we also get the absolute atomic bomb of information that SHE IS THE ONE WHO POISONED HER HUSBAND Jon Arryn, not Cersei and Jaime as we have believed for 4 seasons now - all because Littlefinger told her to. Without this happening, Ned wouldn't have gone to King's Landing to become Hand, wouldn't have discovered Joffrey's true parentage, wouldn't have admitted he knew the truth to Cersei, wouldn't have been killed because of that, Robb wouldn't have declared war and marched south, etc. etc. etc. .... so much stemmed from that one lie. The next day after getting married to Littlefinger, Lysa is eating with Sansa when her jealous side starts to show. She starts to freak out about his love for Catelyn, his whorehouses, and even accuses Sansa of being pregnant with his child, before suddenly snapping out of it and saying that after Tyrion is executed and Sansa is a widow, she'll be free to marry her cousin Robin. It appears that Sansa is not so safe here after all. Elsewhere in the Vale, Arya and the Hound are making their way to the Eyrie. She tells him about her list, and even tells him that he is on it. He seems stunned but at least has the decency to not dispute the fact that he deserves a place on it. He also gives Arya a bit of a wake-up call when she's water-dancing and says that the person with armor and a "big f-ing sword" will always be the winner over someone with fancy techniques. -- The Riverlands: Pod and Brienne are starting out on their journey and Pod is on the struggle bus. He can't seem to do anything right, which really annoys Brienne. Finally, she asks him exactly what he was in charge of doing for Tyrion since he can't cook or ride a horse or do anything else. He admits he saved Tyrion's life by killing a member of the king's guard, which finally garners him some respect from Brienne. -- North of the Wall: Jon's group of volunteers (plus the infiltrator Locke) reaches Craster's Keep. While being held captive, Jojen is having some really weird visions, and tells Bran that he is going to continue on and that his journey doesn't end here. Locke finds the kids and figures out who Bran is - he tries to kidnap him, but Bran wargs into Hodor and snaps Locke's neck. Hodor is horrified about what he's done, but Bran tells him to help the others get untied so they can get out of there. The Night's Watch are busy fighting, and Bran makes the hard decision to leave without reuniting with Jon. Jon ends up killing Karl and Ghost snacks on Rast. After talking to Craster's daughter/wives, they decide to burn the Keep (with all the dead bodies inside) to the ground.
