Tarantino is truly a kid at heart and loves filmmaking. I always loved this excerpt from film critic Roger Ebert on Pulp Fiction: Tarantino is too gifted a filmmaker to make a boring movie, but he could possibly make a bad one: Like Edward D. Wood Jr., proclaimed the Worst Director of All Time, he’s in love with every shot – intoxicated with the very act of making a movie. It’s that very lack of caution and introspection that makes “Pulp Fiction” crackle like an ozone generator: Here’s a director who’s been let loose inside the toy store, and wants to play all night.

The only movie kind of related to Pulp Fiction is Reservoir Dogs, since Vincent Vega's brother, Vic Vega is in that one lol

She watches Vincent on CCTV because she's about to go out with a dude she doesn't know, but she surely knows what her husband does for a living and the guy that is taking her out is a criminal. She's just sizing him up a bit is all.

It would be cool if you guys put the time played AND time remaining at the bottom because some streaming apps (like Netflix) only displays the time remaining (at least on my Android tablet, and yes, I checked in the settings and I tried tapping on the timestamp because with some apps that will change it, but not for Netflix). It makes syncing a real pain in the butt.

It was always nighttime when Vincent and Mia went out. Their walkway into their house is just well lit, so maybe it looked like daytime to you.

So, a few things: Vincent is actually really bad at his job. Maybe he used to be a badass, but the years he spent in Amsterdam must have dulled his senses because he made all kinds of mistakes throughout the movie. When he bought the heroin, his dealer told him they were out of balloons and put the stuff in a baggie instead. He then let Mia borrow his coat, forgetting that a bag of what looked like cocaine was in his pocket. Heroin is often kept in balloons instead of baggies to prevent that very mistake. So it was pretty much his fault that happened to her (she definitely shares plenty of blame though too, but I doubt Marcellus would see it that way...) Then he shoots Marvin in the face in the dumbest way possible. Pointing the gun at somebody and keeping his finger on the trigger... Then he's very inconsiderate to Jimmy and the Wolf. Then he leaves the gun on the counter in Butch's apartment when he knew Marcellus was out of the apartment getting coffee and donuts. Also, it would have almost definitely been Jules staking out Butch's apartment with Vincent instead of Marcellus had Jules not had the epiphany earlier in the day, and that wouldn't have happened had Vincent properly checked the bathroom at the back of those kids' apartment like he should have when he was standing back there in the kitchen while Jules questioned them. Heck, he almost ruined the whole diner scene at the end. Jules had it completely under control and Vincent kept making threats that got HoneyBunny all riled up. Almost all of the bad stuff that happened with Marcellus and his crew happened because of Vincent's incompetence. Luckily he was the one that paid for it the most (although I'm not sure that Marcellus didn't get the worst of it given what happened to him...).

so i am 99.9% sure that Butch is the one who keys Vincent‘s car. in my head, this is how it played out: - in the opening scene when Jules & Vincent are on their way to Brett‘s house we learn that Vincent is newly back from Amsterdam. he does not mention his car being keyed at this point in time. - Jules was driving the black car on the way to Brett’s so we can assume this is probably Jules’ car. ergo, we can infer Vincent left his own car parked at Marcellus' bar when Vincent and he met up to go to Brett's. - Jules & Vincent go to Brett’s. they kill Brett/two unnamed associates and bring Marvin with them. Marvin gets shot by Vincent in the car. - Jules & Vincent go to Jimmy’s house. The Wolf gets them out of trouble. - Jules & Vincent put on those goofy outfits and then end up at Marcellus’ bar to return the briefcase. - at the bar there is a weird interaction between Butch and Vincent which shows us that Vincent really pissed Butch off. Butch gives Vincent that strange look as the camera lingers on him for a while. - Butch leaves the bar in a bad mood because Marcellus basically told him that he’s a washed up boxer and now he’s also stewing over Vincent being an ass. [BUTCH KEYS VINCENT'S CAR OFF-SCREEN] - several days go by. - Marcellus goes out of town. - Vincent buys the heroin and tells his dealer about someone keying his car right after he got back from Amsterdam. that is the night Vincent takes Mia out and she ODs. the timeline matches up pretty cleanly for the car to have been keyed very shortly after the Brett/Marvin incident (at which point the car was not yet keyed) and very shortly before Vincent takes Mia out to dinner.
