In California, we get a notice in the mail that you have been selected to potentially be on a jury several weeks ahead, but then you are instructed to call the night before to see if you have actually been selected to appear. Because some cases might have been postponed for various reasons. I just got a notice last week for jury duty the second week in February, and I was asked to check by phone or on-line, every night of that week. If called, it's usually a large goup of potential jurors that they screen with interviews until they narrow the field to the number of people they need for an actual csse. Gloria was just calling to see if she was selected.
