Great stuff guys, I’m really enjoying your GoT reactions. Watching you watching it is the closest I can get to seeing it for the first time but with better understanding. Your pre and post episode analysis flags up connections and realisations that have passed me by even though I have seen the show and reaction videos many times. Keep them coming! Some observation which are not spoilers I hope. The question of why Jaquen was in King’s Landing, dungeons and being taken to the wall has been the subject of much online speculation. For non book readers I think one prominent line of speculation may have been triggered off by the exchange he had with Arya in this episode. “There is only one god and a girl knows his name”. This echoes what Syrio Forrell said to her during her training in S1. SF “when you are somewhere else do you pray to the Gods ?” Arya “The old and the new” SF “There is only one God and His name is death and there is only one thing we say to death. Not today.” As I understand it the Faceless Men sea death as the only god but one with many faces represented by aspect of the gods of the other faiths such as the Stranger in Westeros’s Faith of the Seven. Melisandre’s god is called R’hilor or the Lord of Light.

Another comment, I love it when you review your favourite dialogue from each series. The dialogue and the way the actors delivered it was for me one of the highlights of the show. There are so many examples: Old Nan trying to scare Bran with tales of the Long Night, Caitlin berating herself for not being able to love Jon, Littlefingers The Climb speech. Quaith’s “Dragons are fire made flesh” speech from S2 (She was the masked woman who told Jorah who had stolen the dragons in Quarth), although I think this was reduced for TV. But my favourite is from S1 and is Maester Aemon’s “Love is the death of duty “ speech in which he reveals his identity to Jon Snow. Brilliant writing, brilliant acting, hairs prickling just thinking about it. The actor in question, Peter Vaughan, played Grouty, in the 1970s comedy series Porridge starring Ronnie Barker. He was the genial but chilling and scary crime boss in the prison.

So when Daenerys executed Mossador for defying her and murdering the harpy, she had to execute her publicly to show all Meereenese that law and justice applies to all, you said that was a bad decision. But when Jon executed Janos for defying him, you are saying that was well executed 🤷🏻‍♂️
