Episode 3 of this fantastic Netflix series! Dennis Rodman takes the limelight! Once a key member of the hated Detroit Pistons' "Bad Boys" championship teams that brutalized Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman is virtually all Jordan can count on in the early months of the 1997-98 season.

Bad Boys and Rodman the 30 for 30s would give you great context to Rodman himself

Reggie Miller is one of the best shooters ever. He is now a commentator on nba games. He is famous for scoring 9 points in 8 seconds

Jacob Mestelle

Nick's right that each of the four rounds of the modern NBA playoffs are seven game series but Jordan played in the era when the first round was a best of 5.

First off, Rodman saying he doesn't think "this team" can't win a Championship without me...maybe in 97....But MJ, Phil and Scottie already won a 3-peat without him so that was kinda weird to hear

Bailey Jones

You guys were talking about competitive people. Kobe was one. He basically copied michael Jordan in every way. He just was not quite as good. Also i would say scottie pippin was not close to the second best player at that time. There were guys like Patrick ewing, charles Barkley, shawn kemp, Isaiah thomas, gary payton, clyde Drexler, Hakeem olijawan, etc just off the top of my head

JT Rebel

Unfortunately Damo you don't know Reggie Miller for being one of the greatest Shooters of all time because yes- he was at "Malace at The Palace" and unfortunately the actions of his teammates ruined his final season in "The Association" (of which if you would recall, they were Eastern Conference Contenders in 04-05) smh

JT Rebel

You can't have a "Most Competitive Players List" without Kobe

the format for making ALL 4 Playoff Series Rounds Best-Of-7 Games started in 2003 Playoffs

I feel like that's our fault lol! I think there have been a couple requests but that's it

That's a good one. Also, Larry Bird. Dan Marino. Tom Brady.

Demolition Man is a great movie.

I feel like I need to watch it again now 😅

Basketball isn't a non contact sport. There is contact

Richard Burks

Too bad you can't get these reactions on YouTube. They are seriously entertaining and I Just know everyone be watching. I love that you guys know enough about the NBA to appreciate the behind-the-scenes drama and personality conflicts that made this team fascinating and legendary. Great content gentlemen. ♠

It’s crazy to me that Jordan’s son is now marrying Pippen ex wife!

Thank you Rich, I wish we could do but at least we have this forum to be able to share them! Appreciate the support as always!

all star competitive team has to have Kobe imo, I saw the great dream team react, maybe someday you'll see the redeem team (Kobe planting Gasol is memorable)

Generally speaking, if a team wins 45 out of 82 games they're a lock for at least a 7 or 8 seed in that conference. 8 seeds in each conference...some years teams make it in with sub .500 records, but are rarely competitive. Last episode the bulls only won 30 games that year, but snuck in and only pushed the Celtics because of an unrestricted MJ. I've followed the NBA for a long time and I didn't even know a team with only 30 wins made the post season until i saw episode 2.

For some more context on Dennis Rodman during that period in '93 that wasn't mentioned: he wasn't able to see his daughter after his divorce; Chuck Daly, his coach and father figure, left the team. I remember in another documentary about Dennis where his mother said, "When people leave him, it hurts him. And he doesn't recover as fast as a lot of people"; multiple players from the peak of the Bad Boys were being traded or on the tail end of their career. He came from a dysfunctional family background and had finally found a family environment in the Pistons where he felt he belonged and encouraged to be himself, and when that, along with his other personal problems, started coming apart at the seams, he started going on a downward spiral.
