His future in limbo, Marcus Mariota bonds with his baby; Julie Cousins nearly misses a historic finish; one team seems to have figured out the Kansas City Chiefs.

The craziest thing about the Vikings comeback is that the QB who lead the 32-point comeback was Frank Reich. Reich was head coach of the Colts until midway through the 2022 season, when their owner fired him and installed his drinking buddy as a replacement. The Colts stole Frank Reich’s job and his record!

IR is injury reserve where players who are injured long term are placed, though sometimes when players don't play for a certain amount of time they are placed on IR and they don't count as on the active roster

Just about to watch but gotta say loving the oval insert of you guys vs the square. 😀 My inner geek loves that yall keep tinkering!!

IR is Injured Reserve. It basically opens a spot on your 53-man roster, so you can rotate in another player while a player is injured. This makes sense if they are badly injured and will miss a significant amount of time, as there are rules on returning from IR. A player placed on IR is ineligible to play for at least four weeks, no matter whether he has recovered or not. So really, players only go on IR when it's bad.

As a lifelong Chiefs fan, I can shed some light on the close games. Many of them are close because they were just close games — the NFL has a lot more parity among team talent than college football does. But the others are somewhat artificially close where the Chiefs attain what they feel is a comfortable lead and their play style changes a bit to take advantage of the ticking clock on their opponent. On defense, they’re focused on taking no chances on giving up a quick touchdown and make the other team have to grind it out. Ideally, they prevent a touchdown, but even if they don’t, they’re making the opponent use as much of their remaining time as possible. On offense, a lot of the Chiefs success is derived from the unique plays that Andy Reid creates (plays that the Chiefs will run once and never again out of that personnel package and formation), and when they’re up by a decent amount, he doesn’t see the need to waste those never before seen plays on a game the Chiefs have already pretty much run, so the play calling becomes a lot more vanilla Again, even if the Chiefs don’t score, the emphasis is on draining the clock so that their opponent can at best make it close just in time to see the clock hit zeroes. That tactics drives a lot of Chiefs fans crazy, but I think over time you get used to it.

Brilliant episode guys. I'm loving this series. They have done a good job of capturing the drama and challenges of being a family man, an elite athlete and a superstar in one of the most demanding leagues in the world. The NFL is a results driven league. I don't care who you are, a player, a coach, a trainer etc... if what you do does not produce wins, you're out!!

Brandon Humphries

You keep brining it up, in the NFL most games are pretty close. It's the best players in the world, so much like Premier league anybody can lose and even bad teams can still be competitive. You don't see alot of blowouts and when you do people lose thier jobs.

In Baseball (Nick you should be familiar with the term), you have the "IL" (Injured List) with NFL equivalent being the "IR" (Injured Reserve)....This is usually a death sentence for the rest of the season if you end up on here, but there are some exceptions....So when Mariota landed on there, with a couple of weeks left in the season- it meant curtains for his 2022 because he would need to be inactive a minimum of 6 games before being allowed to be active.....So just think for NFL, if IR- "see you next year"

JT Rebel

The reason why you'll hear in Football (this is even more prevalent in College Football) guys referring to teammates and opponents by their Jersey # (or as you lot call it "Shirt #"), is because in film sessions, it is easier to build game plans on teams if the most dangerous threats on the opposing Offenses/Defenses/Special Teams is easily identifiable so all week long Kirk Cousins will be referred to by the Packers Defense simply as "8" or the or the Chiefs offense will refer to Joey Bosa as simply "9-7" etc etc

22:37 🤦‍♂️Damo, you supposed to be a Youtuber and yet you didn't know what the production was doing at that moment????? 🤣😂🤣

JT Rebel

Well Damo at least you've proven you're definitely following Baseball now LUL.....Here's a simple Breakdown for NA Pro Sports Championship Matchups: NHL- Eastern Conference vs Western Conference NBA- Eastern Conference vs Western Conference MLB- NL (National League) vs AL (American League) NFL- NFC (National Football Conference) vs AFC (American Football Conference) They also have the same themes in common as the Eastern Conference/Eastern Conference/NL/NFC have a Blue Theme to their Logos while the Western Conference/Western Conference/AL/AFC have a Red Theme to their Logo....And that's North American Pro Sports

JT Rebel

In the NFL, The Home Field Advantage is only applied to your conference because the Super Bowl is already a predetermined location (about 4/5 years in advance)....Also while I'm here this is why Divisional Matchups are so heated because as you correctly pointed out (hey Damo you got one), that most certainly is the same Max Crosby from earlier in the season because only within your Division you are guaranteed 1 Home & 1 Away game every season.... This means (if you truly are now a Chiefs fan) Damo it is required that you get very familiar with The LV Raiders, The Denver Broncos, & The LA Chargers (AFC West). Nick (if you truly are now apart of Bills Nation🤣) it is required that you get very familiar with The NY Jets, The NE Patriots, & The Miami Dolphins (AFC East).

I'm so glad he didn't say the phrase because it was starting to sound like Captain Kirk (that's a Star Trek reference) was only being remembered by you lot for a silly phrase that honestly was nothing special that he said soooo many years ago when really you need to show some respect for his game because he should be remembered for being a pretty good NFL QB

Getting away from the Center when receiving the snap is a fundamental that isn't talked about ever. I can't count how many Quarterbacks I have played with or watched that hasn't had a lineman step on their foot and trip them on a play.

Pete Finch

I think I commented on one of your first ever videos that it's pretty much impossible to dislike Patrick Mahomes even if you root against him every week. Even when he's at his most competitive, yelling at people and such he still sounds "nice" 😂

In regards Chiefs/Opponent final game points differentials. Those final scores were misleading. A lot of those points were in garbage time. Meaning the game was pretty much over but the other teams didn't want to be so embarrassed.
