Brooklyn

The Washington Bullets are now The Wizards. They changed the name because of the gun violence in the area in the late 90s. It would had been fun if they changed it to the Washington Arsenal imo. Way cooler than Wizards

Gary Payton is actually the GOAT Sonic. The team got relocated in 2008 to OKC and became The Thunder. Every basketball fan wants them back and Seattle's Arena recently got renovated to Modern NBA standards so its looking very likely by the next time expansion happens which should be in the next 5 years they'll be the first choice to get a new team

Seattle Supersonics moved to Oklahoma City in 2008 (aka OKC Thunder)

We do say "whitewash" in the U.S- just not in the context you were using it 🤣

I already explained the NBA Playoff Rounds before- so I'll just let you continue to ignore those posts and just laugh every time you call the Eastern Conference Finals "Conference Semi-Finals" 😁

I didn't realize how much of an emotional connection I have to the game of basketball. Because I've played this game so much I easily identify with the preparation, the struggles, the pain of losing, the intrigue, and the tremendous desire to be just a little better than your opponent every time you play. I grew up with a lot of freak athletes in my family. Boxers, baseball players, body builders, and the best athlete in our entire family was my cousin Ken who played college football (Mesa College, and New Mexico State) and in then professionally in the Canadian football league (Montreal. ) When we would all get together at family reunions and other gatherings we played basketball games against each other. I can remember summoning up all of my strength and every ounce of skill in those moments to play my absolute best and win those games. I was always know as the basketballer out of the bunch anyway and felt a tremendous amount of pressure to live up to their expectations. We are all in our sixties (just a bit older then Michael, Scottie and Dennis) now and still reminisce about those games. Basketball was always a part of any family event. Luckily we lived in San Diego where you could play outside all year around. When you guys see the hype around this game through this series, don't underestimate how embedded it is into our culture and psyche. I know this game is not that popular in Britain and you may not fully understand everything about it. But notice the passion of March Madness and the NBA playoffs and final, the insane support and expectation for our Olympic basketball team(s), and ridiculous prices people will pay to see Michael, Kobe, LeBron shoot a basketball. If I were 40 years younger! Just loving the series with you guys. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

For some context about the Rockets team that won the NBA Championship in 1995. Their two best players were Hakeem Olajuwon (drafted #1 overall in Michael’s draft) and Clyde Drexler who Michael had beaten in the finals previously. It was their 2nd Championship in a row and Olajuwon’s second Finals MVP in a row. (In 1994 Olajuwon won the MVP, Finals MVP, and Defensive player of the year in the same season)

The biggest difference in physical preparation between baseball and basketball is probably cardio. You are running and sprinting and exerting yourself physically A LOT more in basketball than baseball.

Gary Payton is definitely the great Sonic of all time, but the greatest player to wear a SuperSonics uniform is Kevin Durant

As soon as he asked that question I was thinking what you’re thinking 😩

Amazing comment Rich, thank you! It sounds like baseball has a huge place in your heart and it means a lot to you. This show has been amazing and I’m glad you shared it with us!

Yeah that’s true, I think I said something similar during the video, thank you 🙏🏼
