NRaO Chapter 09 (Patreon)

The next four years flew by. I invested in a food based business involving food from my original world and it took off. Using the money from that business I hit the other businesses focusing on entertainment next which exploded my profits. Finally focusing on weapons, I made explosive grenades and muskets for special teams the Hokage made.
To put it lightly I didn’t have any money problems and converted the money I won from the exams into businesses that would pay me around the same amount as an S rank mission every month. The few missions I did were for completely selfish reasons.
First would be those that were worth more money than the rest. If they were easy and worth a lot of money. Second would be those that brought me to a different village. While there I would often steal ninja techniques and set up potential businesses in those areas. I also started making alternate identities for the future. If things go wrong in Konoha I can live in the hidden sand or mist village as my alternate identity.
I had begun doing research into making ninja tools. One of my alternate identities was a part time blacksmith in the mist village. The end goal would be to get access to one of the seven swords to analyze. I don’t really think any of the seven suit me so I planned on making my own. I kind of got obsessed with the wood clone technique. The permanent function of the clones as well as them not disappearing when struck were what I worked on.
Years of research and experimentation I finally created an even better (in my opinion) version of the wood clone. I couldn’t use wood release but I could use unique snake ninjutsu. Summoning sensor snakes would allow me to convert the snakes into clones. It was the superior version of sensor snakes allowing me to see through their eyes if I wanted to but just passively giving me information and using my intention to act seemed to work.
I couldn’t make hundreds but having five or six permanent clones seemed feasible with that many temporary clones as well. All of my alternate identities would be able to hold their position in the village without large gaps of them missing. I could also take missions while slacking off in the village. I managed to talk the Hokage into letting me take on some of the civilian ninjas under my wing and I started training them.
They were given seals that would not allow them to discuss the secret training I put them through. Once I started teaching them a single person stood out. Although he was fourteen while I was fifteen he still hadn’t graduated from the ninja academy. He had no skill outside of taijutsu and just refused to give up. I smiled as I taught him my own methods of cycling chakra.
Over the course of the year he rapidly improved. No, he gave me even more ideas to improve. The way my chakra cycling works is it would improve your strength while cycling. So let's say you have a three times modifier while actively cycling chakra. What if you improved your base form? If you could increase your base form by double the three times stronger you would essentially have a six time modifier.
Now imagine you also created a new taijutsu that increased your physical skill beyond that? Opening gates inside the body giving additional modifiers. The gates technique did something very similar to my technique, flooding the body with chakra to increase its strength but it wasn’t exactly the same. The gate technique would cause more damage to the body than cycling. If you were to use the gate technique to grow the body and cycle chakra while you recovered you would still get a bigger improvement than just opening the gates.
Putting my taijutsu specialist group under rigorous training rapidly made the group insanely deadly beyond that of normal ninjas. After showing my research to the Hokage I gave Might Dae a special chunin license and he became the vice captain of my squad. The biggest problem was the food expenses when all my students passed their genin exams.
They were also trained with grenades and muskets. Just like the Anbu assassin squads because of their deadliness compared to kunai and shurikens. My explosive scroll grenades were so much more deadly as they flung shrapnel after exploding that normal explosive tags were slowly being removed from the circulation.
We met up for our yearly squad meeting. “I’ve got great news for you three. All of you will be promoted to jonin. Congratulations!” The Hokage cheered us on but that meant our team was done. We would need to make our own teams with us three as leaders. Tsunade created a group similar to mine except with medic nin and Jiraiya was in the process of making an intelligence network.
Jiraiya pulled out a scroll before saying. “I’m going to wait two years to form a squad. I plan on reverse summoning myself to my true summon.” That would make us twenty when he would make his squad. He looked at me with a smirk, like what he was going to do would put him above me finally. “Ah, I might do the same then. If I wasn’t so busy at least. Maybe in a few months once everything has settled down.” I could only lightly smile at him as I didn’t take his bait.
Tsunade also put off her squad until we were both ready as she wanted to have our teams be rivals. We left and Tsunade caught up to me as I was headed home. “Wait up, we have that thing to discuss.” We walked back in companionable silence and as we entered I called out to make sure none of the cleaning servants were here.
After waiting for a few seconds Tsunade threw herself at me.
