I finished scanning the universes my new and improved multiversal remote could travel to. It looked like the main branching universes were new combined universes branching from the one I was from. Four branches were larger than the rest. The main ‘branch’ or you could say the tree was the combination universes. One was for Marvel, one for DC, and the final was for alternate superhero worlds. I feel like if I looked hard enough I could find universes more closely related to cartoon heroes as well but that was for future me to care about.

I began to filter them as I removed the ones that were destroyed. A not-so-insignificant amount of universes just didn’t have anything in them as they were destroyed by something. Separating the universes into categories, I started to label them. Universes from the combination branch were now A-# universes, with the main universe being A-1.

Marvel was B, DC was C, and alternate hero universes were D. So, the universe I just left was C-3. Universe C-23 was an offshoot of the universe with small changes, such as Ultraman gaining powers from different colors of Kryptonite. The universe I was going to now was universe A-666, it was the zombie universe. This was thankfully the Marvel variant of the zombie gene. I’d rather not deal with a universe of dead black lanterns in universe A-6666 or the anti-life equation being spread in universe A-999.

The device also allowed me to pick the location where I would appear, and I chose the moon. There was most likely nothing that could harm me on zombie Earth but I didn’t want to take the chance. Even gods could bleed and die and I didn’t have the divinity to keep my body if the worst did happen. All of my contingencies were in a separate universe as well.

Taking it carefully, I began to lay down a gigantic magic formation inside a crater on the moon. Superman could have noticed me if he had looked up towards me. How often do you look up into the sky towards the moon during the day though? The chances were practically non-existent and that is if Superman was one of the infected.

Sentry, Hyperion, or Wonder Woman might have been able to see me as well, but I doubted it. They were bullshit OP but not at the same levels of bullshit as Superman. I put the finishing touches on the formation as I added some of my human blood to it. I pick the Joker to teleport up and kill as I scan his blood. How funny would it have been if he was one of the last living humans and I just killed him for no reason, but no, he was definitely a zombie.

I scanned the pile of meat that was the Joker for the virus and reverse-engineered a solution for it in case my magic plan didn’t work out. It would be much slower going than instantly curing everyone but that was only if the virus was resistant/immune to magical tampering… One last check and… It wasn’t, which was good. A huge portion of my magical knowledge was making on-the-fly solutions for problems.

I was really proud of this formation just because of the sheer complexity that went into it. Sure, I could have just made a cure, but anyone who had a wound large enough for them to be dead when they changed back they’d just die. I was going to assume that was most zombies because they’d have to have their bodies munched on to change.

It would slowly heal them at the same time it cured the zombification. Doing the entire planet would be far too much of a burden to do all at once so the light rays reflected off the moon was going to be my inoculation method. Doing it this way would also affect anyone in a building as long as it had a window. It meant it would take a full twenty-four hours to cure everyone and if a super zombie with flight or light speed figured out what was causing it they could potentially outrun the moon but the effect would last for seven days.

This method would also inoculate them from the virus permanently and since my blood was mixed in as the main source of magical power humans would gain a slight boost to their physical prowess for a few days after being cured. I waited an entire day before teleporting down. Thankfully, they didn’t eat Galactus, so the virus didn’t spread across the universe and was only stuck on the planet. The zombies were smarter than you’d see in TV shows but I didn’t like that part in the comic where they left to devour the entire universe for years.

Another scan and everyone who managed to avoid the first wave of the cure had a teleportation circle opened up near them allowing the moonlight to seep into even the deepest hidden zombies. With that everyone was cured. The process was intense, they’d writhe around as large bite wounds would slowly heal and they’d finally fall unconscious about halfway through the process. Sure there was a solution that wouldn’t cause them pain but it would have been harder and slower than the method I used.

The world was completely crippled with almost twenty-five percent of the population dead. Most of the Justice League were dead, and Batman had to use his contingencies to take them out so there weren’t speedsters(or Superman) running around instantly infecting people on the planet. Batman was taken down and blew himself up to stop himself from turning into a zombie. I let the world settle down for a few days before I put my plan into play.

While I was fine leaving beautiful women for people I thought could make them happier than I could… That didn’t include universes where they lost. This universe was effectively forfeited in my eyes… So it was totally fine if I went after girls I couldn’t in the OG universe. Three in particular I was looking to take with me back to my universe. Starfire, Batgirl, and Catwoman. Might as well take Lois Lane, Mera Curry, Susan Storm, and Vanessa Carlysle(Copycat) since their partners were dead as well. How the hell did they kill Deadpool? I was curious and kind of upset I wouldn’t know but didn’t care enough to waste time and energy trying to find out what happened.

It didn’t take much convincing to get all the women on board with leaving this universe. Most were extremely upset about what happened, but at least they didn’t regain their consciousness like Spiderman did in the comics for him to remember he killed and ate his loved ones. If I was traveling with a group of people though, I’d need a ship that could travel between the universes and begin to create the best spacecraft I could. I only thought about making it look like the Tardis a thousand times as well before settling on a futuristic spacecraft design.

Taking us into orbit, I was planning my next universe while I got more ‘acquainted’ with the women I brought on board. They’d have to grow comfortable with each other and I wasn’t sure if I was going to take them traveling with me or just take them straight to the main universe after I had my way with them. Having them meet their universal counterparts might be interesting… Especially if I knocked up my versions of them before they met.

I wonder if Superman would get mad enough to hit me, or would he thank me for saving any version of the woman he loved, even if we ended up together.
