We spent the next few days thwarting Frieza as he stayed in that empowered form. It made no sense to do this. Piccolo could empower himself to be more powerful than Frieza was at the moment with Kaio-Ken, but something felt off about the situation, so we were waiting for our backup of Goku and possibly a problem with Vegeta.

In the meantime, both Piccolo and I were consolidating our gains from having our potential unlocked. Not only did we get a boost to our power by more than double, but we also grew at an accelerated rate. If we just had the time to sit down and focus on getting stronger, I could easily increase my power level another fold, possibly triple or quadruple, within a few weeks, but we didn’t have weeks.

The real standout was Gohan. He had grown at a much faster rate, reaching over a hundred thousand power level at the age of seven, and my son wasn’t far behind him at eighty-eight thousand. They didn’t get the same boost to their training as Piccolo and I, but I felt that the power they could gain over time was much higher than either of us from their potential unlocking at such a young age.

They were children after all, taking on a more supportive role and safeguarding the other Namekian children, with whom they made quick friends. It would still take Goku and Vegeta another day and a half to reach here, but I don’t think we’d get that time. I could already tell Frieza was getting sick of this cat-and-mouse game as he completely wiped out all of the Namekian villages around him.

If only we could distract him, but ever since we killed his force, he hadn’t left the dragon ball he held. We’d need to distract him and get that away, if we could use them, then defeating Frieza would become much easier.

Goku’s Point of View

“Ninety ffffffffour. Ninety ffffffive. Ninety ssssssix. Ninety ssssseven. Ninety… Eight… Ninety… Nine… One thousand!” I finished my one finger handstand pushups done under three hundred times Earth’s gravity before falling over in exhaustion. Breathing out, I relaxed, but before I could deactivate the gravity, I heard Vegeta scoff. “Heh, oh, how the mighty fall. For you to struggle.”

She entered my personal training room before immediately stopping. “W-what’s this? I can’t even move.” Smirking, I told her. “Yeah, that’s because I’m training under three hundred times Earth’s gravity.” She struggled to take a step into the room, managing a few before the weight finally overwhelmed her, slamming her to the ground.

I quickly stood up as I gloated over her, our Saiyan rivalry something I didn’t know I’d like as much as I did as I taunted. “I just did a thousand one finger push-ups in this weight, and you can’t even stand. I thought you were prince, well princess now, of all Saiyans. Aren’t I a low-class Saiyan? Surely you can outdo me?”

I watched her struggle to stand, her pride still weighing her down as much as the increased gravity, as she refused to give up. Taunting even further, I say. “I can lower the gravity if you want. You should be able to stand in two hundred times by now, right?”

She struggled to her knees, her arms shaking under the strain, as I pointed out. “Wow, in this position, it sort of looks like you’re kneeling to me. You don’t need to do that, Vegeta, I’m just a low-class Saiyan warrior after all, while you're the princess.” She couldn’t take it anymore, and she shouted out. “Damn that man who gave me this weak female body.”

I could only question. “What do you mean? You weren’t that strong when we fought either; you’re actually much stronger ever since you’ve become a woman, now that I think about it. Spending twenty years as a male, only to dwarf your original power level in a few short years, the moment your sex changes. You should be thanking him.”

It was true. Who knew how long it would have taken Vegeta to really grow as powerful as she had? Losing did wonders for Saiyans. I decided teasing her would do her no favors at the moment, it was impossible for her to train in this gravity, and would only hurt her growth as I yelled out the voice command. “Ship, lower the gravity from three hundred to two hundred.”

She stood up, and the weight was still something she struggled to move in, but it was perfect for her to train to get stronger. She swung at me. I had learned early on that her default state was confrontation, so I naturally avoided it. It wasn’t the first nor the last sneak attack she would attempt to hit me with. She followed up her sneak attack with another, as it wasn’t the first time I had dodged her attack since we began training.

The dodging of her attacks developed into sparring as I lowered my strength enough for her not to be overwhelmed immediately. Soon enough, she was laid out, panting for breath on the ground from our training. “Oh… Are… The… Worst…” I could only chuckle. “I just wish you were stronger. I’m getting almost nothing out of these spars.”

She squinted in anger as I said. “I mean… I’m about twice as strong since the training, but you’ve increased by five times so far. That really doesn’t seem fair, you’re rapidly catching up to me.” Still breathing heavily, she answered. “That’s Saiyan physique. huff We get stronger. huff To deal with threats. huff Losing a fight for us. huff Is actually better than winning sometimes.”

It had me curious. “So once you get stronger than me, we can fight, and I’ll get stronger faster?” She sat up, and when I realized she was still struggling, I turned off the gravity so it returned to normal Earth gravity. “I hadn’t thought about it. I don’t think that will work; we’ll grow accustomed to fighting each other, which would slow down the process of getting strong.”

“It would slow it down, but still be faster than training by ourselves, right?” Finally, her breathing slowed as she stood up. “Now that I think about it. Most of our strongest Saiyans formed rivalries with other Saiyans at a similar level. I was still very young when Frieza destroyed planet Vegeta, and all the other Saiyans left alive were much weaker than I. I’ve grown so much stronger in a short time… Since you’ve defeated me… Fuck, I think you’re right.”

She stripped off her clothes before casually walking out of the training room. “I’m going to take a shower… If you want to mate before we make it to planet Namek, it might be the last time either of us has the chance to.”

Chapter 16

I felt it, the sudden influx of power as it grew close to fiftyfold almost instantly. My eyebrows rose as Frieza was no longer playing. It appeared that if he couldn’t get the dragon balls, then he wouldn’t allow them to exist. Not only that, I felt him begin to charge an attack that could annihilate the planet. “We need to go fight him right now!”

All of us, including Gohan and Barrage, headed to stop him. I might have stopped them earlier, but this was already a life-or-death situation, and they were also strong enough that they might make a difference. If we lost, they’d die anyway, so why not let them fight?

I looked up, seeing him for the first time. He was ugly, even compared to the other aliens I’d seen up until that point. A purple orb where his brain should be, along with his shoulders and chest, pure white, demonic skin, and red, lifeless eyes, glared at us. A gigantic ki ball sat above his hand with a finger pointing up at it.

“I can’t believe you pathetic worms made me give you an ultimatum to show yourselves. Frankly, I should have done this when you killed my minions, got it over with, but I thought you’d come and fight me once you felt my power level was roughly your own.” The ball began to shrink as his power did as well.

“Luckily for you all, I enjoy playing with my food. Now, come at me, Namekian.” I watched in shocked surprise as Frieza fought with and decimated Piccolo as we all watched. I had been so intently focused on the fight, I hadn’t noticed Krillin run off until he came back with the dragon ball. My eyebrows rose to my forehead as it was handed off to the little Namekian friend(Dende) they made, who came with us.

It would still take him ten minutes to fly to where the other dragon balls were hidden. I let King Kai handle what they wished for as I focused on the fight happening in front of me. “We still needed to buy time. Krillin, attack when I give the signal.” My hands came up near my eyes, which is a clear indicator that everyone in the Z-force should know as the standard before the solar flare. “HEY FRIEZA! I wonder what you’ll look like with a pair of puff puffs!” He looked in my direction, I doubted he could understand the insult, it still pissed him off.

He(hopefully not for much longer) flew at me in a rage, most likely going to kill me before I even got the chance to fight, but I wasn’t trying to fight him. If he’d have just launched a ki blast or laser beam like he had used against Piccolo, I might have been in trouble; that’s why I had to make him angry when he focused on me, so he’d want to punish me up close.

“Solar flare!” A blast of light shot out, blinding the man easily ten times stronger than me, and that was after he reduced his true power. Otherwise, he’d easily be fifty times my own power level, but we weren’t fighting with power levels. Power levels were only a small part of actual fighting, and I fought dirty enough to make up that difference.

The only thing I regretted was not bringing my Mafuba jars with me. I hadn’t thought about it until after we were already on the planet. I hoped they wouldn’t invade, but they did. That’s why I wasn’t trying to capture him in a container right now; instead, I was charging up an attack that would fundamentally change his body forever. “Change beam!”

The attack landed as he was in so much pain from being blinded. His body began to morph, muscles shrank as his chest began to jut out. What I saw as disgusting before now showed hints of imperfect beauty. But now wasn’t the time to fall in love. I looked over at Krillin, confused, as he watched the entire thing before yelling out. “The solar flare was the signal! Attack him!”

He jumped up in fright as he had already missed the best chance to hit Frieza with an attack. As he began charging a normal ki blast, I yelled again. “You’re god damn distructo disk!” The ki began to shift, but he had already missed his chance. The moment he launched it, Frieza had regained his senses and moved to avoid it; instead of cleaving him in half, it only lopped off his tail.

The new female Frieza looked pissed at us, deciding who to kill first before he acted. In one swift motion, she stabbed her hand through Piccolo, who had attempted to sneak attack her before pulling out his heart. I stared on in shock as Piccolo, our strongest fighter, fell to the ground dead, Frieza eating the heart she just stole.

“Mr. Piccolo!” I felt Gohan begin to power up, it was the highest power I ever felt from him, possibly even reaching close to Piccolo’s, before he began to pummel Frieza with ki blasts before finishing with his own signature move he learned from Piccolo. “Masenko!” I waited with bated breath. I could feel the power still there, but perhaps the attack had done some form of damage.

“Oh, I was going to play with you all a bit longer. But then you pissed me off!” In the next moment, she moved, and I felt a terrible sense of dread and teleported away on almost instinct. I felt her remain in the same spot, shocked by my sudden disappearance as I teleported back, grabbing the two children. Krillin was killed before I could teleport back.

I kneeled down, catching my breath. “Boys… Think of your training. It’s time to use that special move you both learned.” They both gave me a determined look as I watched them both power up. Frieza rushed toward us, somehow knowing where we were now, most likely learning our ki sensing technique from watching us use it so often.

“Lower your power a little bit, Gohan, you’re still too high.” I waited until they were close enough before telling them to stop. “Good, go ahead and do it. I’ll go buy us some time.” I teleported away. Frieza had flown over half of the distance between us already before I stopped in front of her. I put my hands up again as if I was going to use the solar flare again, she stopped while covering her eyes, which is what I hoped she’d do.

I hated using this technique because of how much energy it took, but we needed time. “Thunder shock surprise!” I hit her with the lightning technique, which locked up her body. The moment she realized I wasn’t going to use the solar flare, she began to fight against the technique. The first time she went to move, I almost blacked out from the mental pressure she put on keeping her in the same place. But I had to hold for as long as I possibly could.

She tried two more times before she began to power up. I could only smile as I felt another power building behind me. “Let’s see you survive this time. Masenko Kamehameha!” The attack was so powerful that I felt the energy almost scorch me as it flew by. It struck Frieza, and powering up was the only thing that saved her life as she was heavily injured after the attack. She stared daggers at us as I felt the thunder shock surprise break instantly, the next moment, I had a hole in my chest. I could only be thankful that she missed my heart, wanting me to slowly drown in my blood instead.
