GoT: Lightbull Chapter 16 (Patreon)

The otherworldly loot boxes' lowest tier started with similar items to the previous tier. It also started at green quality, which meant there was less chance of pulling garbage. The hundred thousand gold per box was still far too much to purchase at the moment, but with how much money I was passively generating a day, it might be worth it to buy 10 or 20 more.
Green rarity was static amounts of twenty-first-century equipment. Five assault rifles, a hundred grenades, a solar-powered refrigerator. Things that existed in the world we came from, including a random muscle car. Blue was regenerating resources. 100 bullets per day, a revolver that regenerated one bullet an hour, a thousand grenades a week, 20 assault rifles with 1000 bullets per month, and so on.
Purple was where it got to otherworldly drops. A lifespan increasing fruit, a bag of holding, a senzu bean, a book that taught you a martial fighting style by touching it, 100 military rations pills, and faulty super soldier serum. The serum stood out to me, but it came with the cost of heavily shortening the user's life. Still good, but not something I’d use myself.
Legendary rarity was just… Better items it looked like, and some regenerating resources as well. A random low-grade devil fruit, 100 senzu bean pouch, 1 minute of flight per day, chakra activation, ki energy control, 1 of 7 dragon balls, a sealed zanpakuto, and the super soldier serum. Those were just some of the choices I saw pass, and it made sense why it didn’t guarantee the tier above this one if these were the rewards for the orange rarity.
Red was insane. If orange gave you a taste of power, red would make you a pseudo god in Game of Thrones. I only saw two passes, and both were complete game changers. A rechargeable green lantern ring and permanent flight. The super soldier serum might seem like an item in the red rarity as well, but it came with the side effect of enhancing whatever was there in the first place. If I were to take it, I would most likely become a murder driven, lust-filled psychopath.
If it were Nagel’s version, it might be worth taking, as there were no adverse side effects, but I’d need to roll more than ten to see if it was on there. There might just be a physique-enhancing power-up I could gain instead. Every single roll was something of value, but as every single roll cost a hundred thousand gold, and I only got these ten for free, that would mean in order to guarantee a legendary, I’d need to spend a million gold.
That might not seem like a lot, but it took Robert his entire reign to put the crown six million in debt, and he was spending money as if he would never have to pay it back. A million gold was enough to live comfortably for several lifetimes, and only a few houses or factions like the slaver masters, maesters, and iron bank had more than that.
Taking out the Valyrian steel swords and armor, I found… I might have enough for another ten rolls, but then I’d have to wait for more. I was generating ten thousand gold per day, and once again, that seems like a lot, but it would still take a hundred days just to get enough to guarantee a legendary; otherwise, I wouldn’t waste my money.
This time, I got lucky and rolled two, so you could roll more than one; it just meant one was guaranteed. From the lowest quality to the highest, 10 MRE meals per day, solar-powered mini-fridge, a yacht, a revolver that regenerates a bullet an hour, ten random muscle cars, a self-repairing solar-powered transport vehicle, an instant master chef book, a senzu bean, ki energy control, and a dual cultivation book…
The dual cultivation drew my attention; if it was like the cultivation stories I read, it meant I could make myself and my sexual partners stronger by having sex with them. That doesn’t seem like much, but if it would help keep them from dying during childbirth or strengthen me so I didn’t have to train to get stronger, it was a nice bonus. Ki control seemed strong, but it was based on Dragon Ball.
I might be at a combat power level of five, with my adult body reaching ten, and then my perfectly trained body reaching twenty, maybe thirty to fifty after a lifetime of training… Which was still far below most of the Z-fighters at the end of Dragon Ball. It takes around twenty power level to even have a chance at learning to fly. I might not even be able to use the kamehameha, and doing so might drain me to the point of exhaustion on a blast that couldn’t even destroy a brick wall.
Dual cultivation might be the only reason I got any use out of ki control, and it wouldn’t be for years did I see any effect because I was still in this young body. So, if I had purchased the loot boxes instead of getting them free, I’d have received almost no immediate power from spending a million gold. The same would have been for chakra; I wouldn’t be able to use any jutsu for at least a few years after unlocking it.
In terms of immediate fighting power, I only have the revolver… The convenient items weren’t worth nearly the million gold I would have spent, and a revolver might be a worse choice in most situations if my opponent is armored, compared to a crossbow I could pull out of my storage. It made me pause and think if buying ten more was worth it… But before that… I had the otherworldly mutation to roll.
I felt excited as I rolled it, wondering what I could get. Once again, no grey or white rarity, I was guaranteed something useful. I looked at all the mutations. Orc blood, dwarf blood, elf blood, wizard blood, witcher blood, goliath blood, werewolf blood, troll blood, vampire blood, giant blood, fish-men blood, Uzumaki blood, Uchiha blood, chimera ant blood, dragon blood, Otsutsuki blood, Lunarian blood, Saiyan blood, Demon blood, Angel blood.
My breath hitched as a red rarity for God’s blood went by before finally settling on a blue rarity mutation. Hyuga blood… Thankfully, it didn’t come with the seal. The blood was the lowest rank it could be; only a drop of blood, it wouldn’t affect my appearance at all. The only benefit I felt from gaining it at the moment was a slight improvement to my senses and maybe a slightly stronger body.
I had mutation points now, though, so I could easily power it up… But I think the dragon blood I had in my body already was technically more powerful, and made more sense to increase first. Upgrading dragon blood from rare to epic took fifty points, but I felt like I could increase the quantity in my body as well. The drop of Hyuga blood could be increased in rarity as well, for fifty points, but increasing the quantity would be far less costly than increasing my dragon blood quantity.
I increased my dragon blood rarity and quantity first, taking one hundred points altogether as I feel my body heat up. If I weren’t alone in my cabin on the boat, someone might have noticed steam rising from my body from the change. I felt I was right on the cusp of being immune to fire now, but I also felt stronger, tougher, and possibly even smarter, but it was once again hard to tell. I just knew that increasing the mutation made a difference somewhere.
And I also did so with Hyuga, first increasing the quantity four times. The cost went from five, ten, twenty-five, to fifty. My eyes did begin to change, but without chakra, I couldn’t use my special eyes, only another small improvement in my body, until I increased their rarity. Increasing the Hyuga blood rarity from rare to epic shifted my eyes' color from gold to white for a moment before the dragon blood in me shifted them back. I felt it though… A spark of energy as chakra began to generate in my body. I just gained a legendary power for free.
